Just goes to show.....things ain't always what they seem to be. Sexual preferences and behavior are the most vague aspects of just about anyone; I once worked with a guy who was convicted of having sex with his teenage daughter but I would have never suspected it. :wtf:

He's an actor. Real life not necessarily related to characters. Do we really think Mel Gibson is "Road Warrior"? That Ahnold is a robot"

Cosby is a Protestant Christian.
Apparently the tatters were there all along; suspension of religious convictions and suspension of disbelief go hand in hand. Let's recall what my old friend Grace Slick once sung......"When the truth is found to be lies....."

And? It's still the wrong religion.

Demons are one of those things that evolved over the centuries in Christianity and earlier religions. Both good and evil, they were, er, demonized by the 5th century AD.

The devil is the devil in any religion. I was referring to 'ol Scratch' as the devil..

"Just curious, why do you invest the time and energy to add quotation marks to something you're already putting in a quote box and why do you remove links when just clicking the quote button would be both easier and more accurate?"
Because I was taught when you quote someone's words, you use quotation marks. If you don't wish to quote the entire line, you break it up with .......
If you quote within a quote or want to characterize something, you use '.....'

Not a lot of energy consumed in that; it keeps my mind sharp though. Thanks for asking.

I would think such a grammatically picky person would know that an ellipse only has three periods ... with a space at each end.

But probably when you were taught, there was no such thing as a quote box.

Is it still grammatically correct to place 4 periods in the ellipse that appears at the end of the omitted passage?

So, should it be, "... end of an entire sentence. ..."?
Hmm. Have consult Strunk when I get a mo. Seems like many of the rules we were taught back in the dark ages (like Mr. B) have changed in the computer age. Two spaces between sentences, for example.

Or typewriter.

If we were as easily offended as some we might call Mr.B's writing style a "perversion". :D

Four periods, but all together....
You can also put other punctuation at the end of an ellipse, for example, at the start of a list, with portions deleted, one might say, "The following list ...:
You don't see that very often, though.

You made it sound like Protestant Christians knew nothing about 'ol Scratch. That's why I defined who 'ol Scratch was.
Just forget it and move on.

That should be "Do my efforts..." or "Does my effort..." You're welcome.

Ok, I just thought Bill Cosby would have said about the same thing to his kid after reading the kid's homework paper.

Sources say the next total one will occur on Aug. 21, 2017...I don't think there will be three though. :D

I personally favor the lunar ellipse over the solar one. I'm funny that way......

It's a popular opinion that the word 'lunatic' is derived from lunar ellipses; hence a full lunar ellipse evolved from that........maybe not in that order;
however, here you can order your own lunar calendar, since you're funny that way.

I can't figure out what the Indian woman running in her slip has to do with it; must be something to do with that 'lunatic' thingy.
