In the 24 hours since our campaign launched, British Airways and Iberian Airways have been in touch to let us know they won't accept animal "trophies" for transport! A growing list of airlines are now taking this stand.

But there is one key holdout -- Delta. Despite regular non-stop flights between the USA and South Africa, Delta has refused to enact a ban.

We need to increase the pressure on Delta to act. Here's what you can do:

1. If you're a Delta SkyMiles frequent flier member, click here to sign on to our special open letter to Delta.

If we get at least 200 confirmed frequent fliers, we'll deliver it straight to the CEO. Airlines get really worried when their regular fliers start calling on them to change.

2. Click here to post on Delta's Facebook wall to tell it to stop transporting animal trophies.

... On Monday, Delta and United Airlines, the two carriers that offer nonstop service from the U.S. to Africa, announced that they would no longer allow such shipments.

Delta — which can get you to Lagos, Accra, Dakar, and Johannesburg from Atlanta or New York — has been the subject of a major online campaign. It capitulated Monday, issuing a statement saying that it would “officially ban shipment of all lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros, and buffalo trophies worldwide as freight.”

United followed suit, telling NBC News that it too would enact a ban.

... the New York Times reports that the lion’s share ( ) of non-African hunters on the continent come from the United States (2/3 according to TV news). 15,000 Americans go on African hunting holidays each year, and “the vast majority want to take trophies of their kills home,” conservationists told Reuters in June.

South African Airways, British Airways, Lufthansa, and Emirates have all stopped freighting such trophies.

Update 3 August 2015: Delta Airlines just contacted SumOfUs and informed us that effective immediately, Delta will officially ban shipment of all lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros and buffalo trophies worldwide as freight! Let's keep it up.

Update 31 July 2015: British Airways, Air France, KLM, Singapore Airways, Lufthansa, Air Emirates, Iberia Airlines, IAG Cargo and Qantas have all confirmed they ban the transport of animal trophies. Let's keep the pressure up on Delta and others to join them!
