Does dr. ben deserve his only thread (think Joseph and the Pyramids)

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Does dr. ben deserve his only thread (think Joseph and the Pyramids)

After all, he is the most bat-shit crazy of all the bat-shit crazy people in all of bat-shit crazy land.

1. We can probably chalk up his “angry youth” bat-shit about fighting with baseball bats and hammers to the common practice of the born again evangelical types to try to outdo each other over what bad asses they were before seeing lights and hearing voices.
2. As the only vegetarian in line at Popeye’s, he is again mistaken as the lord and master of all around him by the gunman who sticks a gun into dr. ben’s ribs, only to be redirected by the all-knowing dr. ben to point the gun at the man behind the register. According to dr. ben, “[the gunman] said, 'Oh, sorry,' and then he went to the appropriate person behind the register who gave him the money, and he left the store running before the police got there." But then, ben says when confronted with the evidence that no police report exists, “no police came” because it was such a little crime.
a. Vegetarian at Popeye’s
b. Robber mistakes inline customer for store robbery.
c. Robber apologized for inconvenience to dr. ben
d. Fast food restaurant robbed, but doesn’t file a police report.
e. No police came
f. Police showed but didn’t file report
g. Dr. ben is bat-shit crazy
3. Joseph and the pyramids – this one is so bat-shit crazy that not even any other bat-shit crazy people believe this bat-shit craziness; this came straight from the god-like life saver who does no wrong – dr ben his own self.
a. The pyramids were built over a long period of time and a lot is known (to educated people) about who and when they were built
b. The pyramids are mostly solid and would not allow for grain storage
c. “everyone knows that the only reason to have a hermetically sealed environment is to store grain. What? Bed the bat-shit crazy idiot must have gotten grain storage mixed up with the world or UN or whoever has the seed bank near the artic circle. Grain is kept pretty much in the open – in an environment like Egypt, a roof would keep out the elements and a wall would keep out the pests and thieves.
d. Dr. ben is bat-shit crazy and stupid

The things this man has said and said he did and his refusal to offer even the slightest of evidence only point to more on the way. Please help dr. ben make this thread a success by offering your take on

The Chinese are in Syria (he’s actually right here – the Damascus phone book does list 17 Chinese restaurants
His sources are better than the CIA and NSA
Just call them losers
The list of bat-shit craziness from dr. ben is long and plain bat-shit crazy

To be accurate, the Baltimore PD says that the alleged Popeye's robbery occurred before the creation of a searchable database, not that a police report wasn't filed.

If it's even true, the creepy part is that chickenhawk Carson reveals: "only to be redirected by the all-knowing dr. ben to point the gun at the man behind the register." Cowardly, and stupid for airing his cowardice.

My favorite:

- Ben Carson spends decades telling one and all about his West Point application, acceptance and scholarship. It's in his 1996 autobiography "Gifted Hands". It's in his recent book, "You Have a Brain." He repeated it in a Facebook post in August, a month ago on PBS's Charlie Rose, and numerous times over the years.

- Reporters looking to write more about it find that he made up the claim.

- He admits making it up, and calls the reporters dishonest for noticing.

- Then he switches to saying that it's "an outright lie" that he ever made the claim, and even denies that the campaign “admitted to anything.

In 2012 election cycle the job of Republican clown car (Bachmann, Cain, Paul, Perry, and Santorum, buttressed by Palin and Trump further out) was to stand next to Romney and make him look like a viable candidate by comparison. But this time the clown car is all they've got. (Well, Jeb might even be a good President, but between his family, his ties to terrorists and the mob, and opposition from the far right, he's simply not electable.)

Which leads to a scary thought:

It's been said that the Bush II Presidency was really the Karl Rove / Dick Cheney years. Ben Carson might be backed by the Republican leadership because he's a G.W.Bush on steroids. Someone in over his head, that a Karl Rove or Dick Cheney can use as a puppet leader.

It's certainly possible that an "attempt to stab" somebody that obviously - for whatever reason, beltbuckle or not - caused no harm could go un-witnessed and un-remembered by others yet still seem significant to Ben. It's also possible that the "attempt" to hit his mother with a hammer could have been largely in his mind. He may have had a hammer in his hand, fantasized about whacking his mom, and the story grew in his mind to an attempt to hit her. It's possible that he saw minor adolescent events as being more significant than they were or more "bad" than they were. It may be these are things for which he "repented." But those things along with the many others noted pretty much show a person living in his own world without much basis in reality. Not that he wasn't a great surgeon, but even there his report and perception of the many things he did differs from the reality others might see. Like f'rinstance, the conjoined twins he so famously separated never had anything remotely close to a normal life, and were somewhat veggie. The adults he tried to split died. So sure, he worked at the edge of a risky field, but still, it doesn't appear he was a miracle worker. And now he thinks he's qualified to be President. Oy.

It does fit the pattern.

very tough to explain Joseph and the Pyramids outside the context of just plain stupid

He is most certainly a legend in his own mind

oops, now dr. Ben is refusing to disclose required financial information

seems he owns millions in real estate with his best friend and convicted felon alfanzo costa, but refuses to disclose his ownership

reckon he thinks disclosing his relationship with a felon convicted of health care fraud is worse than violating election law

poor little ben, everyone is being so unfair
if people would just look at his portrait of him leading jesus, then everyone would understand that he is as god-like as he believes he is

Yes, but he's going to call "all of them." Sorta like Palin "reads all of them", eh?

New York Magazine: Ben Carson’s Advisers Terrified of Carson Presidency

Meanwhile the Bobby Jindal has dropped out, despite his anti-science credentials.

But fear not; Donald Trump is back in the lead.

Not much momentum gain from Jindal falling off as long as Christie is still aboard.

Maria Bartiromo asked him a standardquestion about whether he supported President Barack Obama’s decision to deploy 50 special ops troops in Syria. Carson’s response started with, “Well, putting the special ops people in there is better than not having them there, because they—that’s why they’re called special ops.”

There was never a chance in hell that the GOP would nominate a black, even a sane an honest one. You never had a shot, either, Carly.

In Carson's defence: Years ago I had a win in the Bulwer-Lytton fiction contest. Where the goal is to compose the opening sentence to the worst of all possible novels. That is, deliberately bad.

But bad writing isn't enough to win. Your entry needs to be truly demented.

This is what candidates face with today's Tea Party / Fox News dominated Republican Party. The standard demagoguery, dishonesty and misogyny only works for so long. For continued broad support it needs to be truly demented, and this is hard to maintain.

Carson is good at it, but Trump is great at it. And Cruz is more experienced.
