War on Women

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

I felt the bile rising with that latest tweet.
A promo for the pageant is my pick. Good one.

The Congressional Review Act has lets lawmakers undo regulations enacted in the last months of the Obama administration with a majority vote. Congress has already used the law to eliminate Obama regulations dealing with pollution from coal mining operations and prevented some people with mental disorders from gun purchases....

As I have been saying for 7 years - obama is a republican. Most of the radical things he did in his last 6 months were to energize the radical right.

He did repug health care, huge tax break for the rich and middle class and working poor tax hike early on.
Trump: “We had the safest border in the history of our country - or at least recorded history. I guess maybe a thousand years ago it was even better.”

He fought that one. But Republicans had a gun to America's head. "Make Bush's 'temporary' tax holiday for the rich permanent, or the country gets it."

He didn't do too badly on that:

Politifact: Barack Obama said he's cut taxes for 'middle-class families, small businesses'

Laws are one thing, and Obama cetainly had impediments to getting good ones passed. However, I don't understand the rationale for waiting so long on important regulations that they could be cancelled by a simple congressional simple majority and POTUS signature. Maybe he was just that sure it would be a Dem POTUS.

Stop funding sexual harassment

Tell Lexus, Jenny Craig, Rachael Ray, and other companies
Don't support a serial sexual harasser. Pull all your ads from The O'Reilly Factor.
Not that I couldn't come up with a bunch of other reasons to stop funding O'Reilly.

They need to pull advertising from the entire network, not let their ads get assigned to other shows.

"Is misogyny in your wallet?"

You'd think that one who uses that word in their everyday branding of someone else would know what it means, or how to apply it. If O'Reilly, or Trump for that matter, were such skirt-chasers, how do you figure they're 'misogynists' ? Just askin' ...

You're joking again, right?
What could better demonstrate "contempt for" than "grab her by the pussy"?
What could better demonstrate "prejudice against women" than seeing them as prey or subservient?

Yep, I know what "contempt for" and thus misogyny mean. Shame that some fail definitions so miserably.

It's very, very revealing when someone considers sexual assault and workplace harassment and to be mere skirt-chasing. Ick.

I understand your thinking skirt-chasing is icky, but if a (normal) man likes to chase women to the point of harassment, how is that considered hate or prejudice against a woman?

I notice you never mention the word 'misandrist' ...

Misogyny is closely related to gynophobia. Throw in a healthy dose of narcissism, and you have Trump, Cosby, O'Reilly.
Men of their ilk desperately need to feel superior, and they feed that need by controlling, objectifying, and humiliating women.

As far as I'm concerned, any man who voted for Trump has a piss poor attitude about women. No man who truly loves and respects women would overlook the contempt coming from him and the Republican party.

It begs the old question, "What if that were your mother/daughter/sister?"

As everyone with ethics and half a brain knows, "skirt (or pants)-chasing" can be done legally and respectfully. Only despicable misogynists think that illegal and immoral sexual assault and workplace harassment are natural extensions of skirt-chasing. Ick, again. By that definition stalking and rape are okay, too.

That was the only reason that kept you from voting for him?

As far as I'm concerned, anybody who voted for Hillary has a piss poor attitude about the sanctity of life...period.
