Right! Now we can break out the coffee and donuts. And start lobbying for that pipeline!

The worst opposition is on the prairies. The plan is to train sheep to sniff out and head for any pipeline break, to soak up the oil before it gets into the water table. We'll train otters for the wetlands.

I certainly agree with utilizing otters in the wetlands but cannot understand how we will get the sheep to get down and roll around on the ground at the site of a leak in the pipeline so that the wool will be able to wick up the oil spill. Maybe it would be better for us to inject hickory smoke flavor into the pipeline and just have coyotes lick up any spill that may occur.

I think we could get the sheep to roll, but cleaning the oil out of the wool will be a challenge. Maybe install auto-type sheep washers out in the prairie and after the sheep collect the oil they can be run through the washer. Used oil from the washer can be collected and sold for hair product in New Jersey.

Also, while Vrede is away, could we get some additional surveillance on the protesters. Any protesters, they're all up to no good no matter what they're protesting. Just watch them better. Maybe bug their cars while we're at it. Implant streaming cameras in their picket signs. Maybe make them show a government ID to protest. Hey, they say it's good for voting.

Carbon offsets: A third world country can sell its credit under the Kyoto Protocol for not burning oil to one that's still burning a lot.

I'd like to propose a solution to help endangered species: Predator offsets.

Sheep suck anyhow, and they're expendable.

Made it, including a shuttle in a big NG truck. While Vrede is Away the military is at his disposal. :D

Lots of messed up town but nice set up here - mobile field ER, only one of any sort south of Kinston. Will stay as long as they want me.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, is an agency that allows the White House to suspend constitutional government upon declaration of a national emergency.

Is Vrede a part of this conspiracy? Is he having secret meetings with Obummer?? State of emergency my ass!

True, or for any made up reason.

Is Vrede a part of this conspiracy?

Yes.

Is he having secret meetings with Obummer??

Pffft, he's our puppet.

State of emergency my ass!

Too many jalapenos?
Guess I'm not really "away". 12 hour shifts, wifi, no vehicle since we had to get shuttled through the high water, nothing else to do. Saw a submerged Subway, struck me as ironic.

Fair's fair, the military has been using my resources for imperialist use for decades.

Don't know about King's, part of town is fine, part has 5 feet of water. Or more by now, crest is later today or early tomorrow. Didn't notice it while being shuttled. Is that the brew pub someone mentioned? If so and if I see it, I'll stop for a beer in your honor after de-mob. Any other suggestions for touristing as long as I'm all the way out here?

King's is a BBQ place.

One of those that finds itself on the various "best of" lists. It's on US 70 on the east side of town. Other than that, I don't know of any entertainment opportunity. Maybe find a commercial pig farm to protest water/ground pollution at?

Ouch, right next to the river, not looking good.

Yeah, heard on the radio that flooded pig and chicken farms are a huge hazard now.

I meant touristing anywhere in E. NC.

Oh - I thought you were stranded around Kinston. Well IMNVHO the area from east of Raleigh to around New Bern is pretty much a cultural and visual wasteland. But if you have time to get out to the Morehead City area, the town of Beaufort is very interesting. One of the oldest towns in the country, much restored and a lot of history. Fort Macon is worth the trip. Of course everything down that way may have been severely damaged from the storm, so ...

I am stranded around Kinston for now, but we're anticipating de-mob Tues. or Wed. Not sure about elsewhere but the severe damage here is near the river. Until the flooded part of Kinston everything looked perfectly normal.
