North Korea, The Internet, Our Vulnerability

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

No different than flying or driving your car. Hell, you're going to die one day anyway. When your number is up, it makes no difference what you're doing or where you are, or how old you are, you're going out.
There's nothing like standing on the deck on the wide open ocean feeling the sun and the salt breeze on your face. Beats being packed like sardines in a can with wings or driving along minding your own business when another vehicle out of nowhere takes you out.

Checked to see if homerfobe had the balls and honor to admit screwing up in calling me a "Liar", no surprise that he doesn't.

Please don't cry. :crybaby: A certificate or plaque is nothing but a memento, something to remember the event.
Something to show off, rather than show your ass like you're doing here.
(please don't be checking my balls. My honor's intact.)

Still. What a pansy when he flubs!

No crying here, you've screwed up again. It's my pleasure to remark on your stupidity and cowardice, thanks!

Oh well, yet another example of how little he knows about seafaring.

Thank you for your service to our country.
Without you flaming, whining snowflake activists who wants everything to suit you and your like, we'd be in a hell of a mess.
(you got any more petitions I can sign for you, pansy man?)

Well, well, well. Hell hath frozen over.
I couldn't agree more, except my decks usually include a comfy seat and a bottle of wine.
The best is the history, tracing routes followed by Phonecians, Greeks, Egyptians, Romans. Sailing past the Sirens, skirting the swirling waters of Charybdis that wrecked Odysseus, gliding into the caldera at Santorini. Ah........

There's nothing like squatting on the deck on the wide open ocean for 8 hours blasting rust with a needle gun.

Better out on deck than down in them nastyass engine room bilges. Better still to never chip paint again. To this day, paintbrushes make me sick at my stomach.

The anchor chain locker was the worst for me, never did an engine room bilge.

Full of all kinds of nasty shit, not the least of which is umpty-gallons of 2190TEP lube oil. You can't pump those bilges completely dry, and you have to stand in that shit while you chip. Then, you are commanded to paint right over the still-oily mess.

Yeah, I know how nasty they are, just never had the pleasure of rehabbing one. Anything interior sucked - cramped, hot, poor ventilation and rotten for the ears even with protection. I did a fresh water tank, too, but it was downright spacious compared to the anchor chain locker.
