Wingnutties out of control!

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Heard something last night about
1) some guy with mental problems
2) who went off his meds
3) wrote crazy Facebook posts about killing white DC cops
4) who went to DC
5) but authorities were alerted by his wife
6) he was captured unarmed

Saw the full coverage on fox (I watch so you won't have to) this morning. It's no wonder their audience is so ignorant of facts and unable to form sound opinions.

They completely omitted # 1,2 and 5.

3 was covered with hysterics only about white people to be killed and no mention of the idiot ranting on Facebook

#4 was covered accurately

#6 omitted that he was unarmed, but our bravest were covered and highly praised for saving us all

Actually, BIL's qualifications look better than most everyone else in the family. E. Carolina may not be Harvard, but the guy looks like he's been working.

He has some impressive credentials, they're just not relevant to the new job.

You are our SE Alabaman ;) , could the latest accusations about Moore cost him the election there if he doesn't withdraw? The polls through mid-Oct. have him up by 6 points.

It's really sick that anyone would have voted for him before this came out, but then it is Alabama and trump is president, so they'll hold their noses and vote for the Bible humping pedophile.

Maybe, but they've tossed politicians for far less, including the last governor.

I heard a good comment from Jones - that may be or should be a campaign slogan - he said, "I get along better with Republicans than Roy Moore can get along with anybody."

Did you see the Alabama state auditor comment

Ziegler says, choosing his words carefully before invoking Christ. “Also take Joseph and Mary. Mary was a teenager and Joseph was an adult carpenter. They became parents of Jesus.”

“There’s just nothing immoral or illegal here,” Ziegler concluded. “Maybe just a little bit unusual.”

Not to mention that God was really really old when he screwed Mary.

You would know better than I, I suppose, but it certainly seems plausible that adult men hitting on 14 year olds in Alabama might not be so "unusual". Not that it's necessarily directly related, but there were 7,610 pregnancies in Alabama among girls 15-19 in 2013, a drop of 57% over the high in 1988 when Moore was diddling in the nursery. Their current teen rate ranking is #41, followed only by the usual suspects.

Just a guess, but I imagine that most teen pregnancy in Alabama is teens with teens resulting from lack of education and an abundance of religious parents unable to discuss facts.

Older men screwing teens has always been and will always be a pastime for the super rich and powerful like trump and Weinstein.

No love for Moore here, but has anyone seen a credible explanation of why the women waited until now rather than during his two AL SC runs? Just curious, I get that victims have their reasons.

Found:
If he steps aside, Moore could always open up a pizza restaurant.

Theory: (1) they had no reason to think anybody would believe them until recently when the Weinstein, etc. dam broke; (2) they aren't particularly political and actually didn't seek out publication of this now; (3) some had reported their experience previously, to no particular avail.

But yeah, digging up the dirt and publicizing it now it a political move by Moore's opposition, but the dirt was there for anybody to find. All Moore's previous campaigns were in-state with little if any national impact.

Figured I'd go to the source.
... On a second visit, she says, he took off her shirt and pants and removed his clothes. He touched her over her bra and underpants, she says, and guided her hand to touch him over his underwear.

“I wanted it over with — I wanted out,” she remembers thinking. “Please just get this over with. Whatever this is, just get it over.” Corfman says she asked Moore to take her home, and he did....

Of the four women, the youngest at the time was Corfman, who is the only one who says she had sexual contact with Moore that went beyond kissing. She says they did not have intercourse....

According to campaign reports, none of the women has donated to or worked for Moore’s Democratic opponent, Doug Jones, or his rivals in the Republican primary, including Sen. Luther Strange, whom he defeated this fall in a runoff election.

Corfman, 53, who works as a customer service representative at a payday loan business, says she has voted for Republicans in the past three presidential elections, including for Donald Trump in 2016. She says she thought of confronting Moore personally for years, and almost came forward publicly during his first campaign for state Supreme Court in 2000, but decided against it. Her two children were still in school then and she worried about how it would affect them. She also was concerned that her background — three divorces and a messy financial history — might undermine her credibility.

“There is no one here that doesn’t know that I’m not an angel,” Corfman says, referring to her home town of Gadsden.

Corfman described her story consistently in six interviews with The Post. The Post confirmed that her mother attended a hearing at the courthouse in February 1979 through divorce records. Moore’s office was down the hall from the courtroom.

Neither Corfman nor any of the other women sought out The Post. While reporting a story in Alabama about supporters of Moore’s Senate campaign, a Post reporter heard that Moore allegedly had sought relationships with teenage girls. Over the ensuing three weeks, two Post reporters contacted and interviewed the four women. All were initially reluctant to speak publicly but chose to do so after multiple interviews, saying they thought it was important for people to know about their interactions with Moore. The women say they don’t know one another.

“I have prayed over this,” Corfman says, explaining why she decided to tell her story now. “All I know is that I can’t sit back and let this continue, let him continue without the mask being removed.”

This account is based on interviews with more than 30 people who said they knew Moore between 1977 and 1982, when he served as an assistant district attorney for Etowah County in northern Alabama, where he grew up....

Very creepy, there could very well be others, and I'm fine with it if this is what he goes down for. But, we've all heard about or been more closely connected to even more awful things. Am I wrong to think that what he's done in the 38 years since is worse? And, does that mean that those that didn't already think that he is a very bad man won't change their views now?
