Can't make this (stuff) up

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

The crew deserves credit for not deploying the slides.
One slide did deploy. It may have been automatic when the door was opened and may have been immediately detached to afford direct access to the ground, idk.

The Intercept: GOP Candidate for Pennsylvania Special Election Is a Former Abu Ghraib Interrogation Consultant
Rick Saccone, the GOP nominee in Pennsylvania’s 18th congressional district, is a former intelligence support consultant for the U.S. Army at the infamous Abu Ghraib prison. He has written extensively in support of interrogation tactics widely condemned by human rights experts as torture.

Over the years, drawing upon his experience in Iraq, Saccone has promoted waterboarding, stress positions, sleep deprivation, as well as threatening prisoners with execution, dogs, and electrocution, as necessary tactics for obtaining information from detainees.
Naturally....
Saccone, who was elected during the tea party wave election of 2010 to a state legislative seat, has played up social issues in his bid for Congress this year. He is known generally in state politics for attempting to make 2012 the “Year of the Bible,” and has long campaigned on the claim that there should be no separation of church and state.
Yesterday Trump was in Pennsylvania campaigning for him.

If I were in Pennsylvania I'd be making my own front lawn campaign sign:

"Rick Saccone For Twitching On The End Of A Rope."

The seat was vacated by the anti-choice Rep. that pushed his mistress to get an abortion. Torturer Saccone is leading by 12 points. It's a solid red district, but that won't stop the right from crowing about a major victory despite losing every tossup and even AL over the past year.

Over in Arizona Joe Arpaio is running for the same Senate seat as revenge porn site extortionist Craig Brittain, splitting the vital "demented racist" vote.

Arpaio is only 2 points out of the Republican Primary lead.

. . . but Brittain has not released the Arpaio porn pics yet.

Suspect In Blaze Bernstein's Murder Reportedly Linked To Neo-Nazi Group

A man charged with the murder of college student Blaze Bernstein is an avowed neo-Nazi who trained with an extremist group, ProPublica reported, citing sources with knowledge of his activities.

Samuel Woodward, 20, is accused of stabbing 19-year-old Bernstein more than 20 times on Jan. 3. Bernstein, who was Jewish, openly gay and had attended high school with Woodward, was found buried in Lake Forest, California, more than a week later....

Man, I hate to make light over a situation in which a truck driver gets killed, but I can't resist the irony of a bunch of Republicans in a train wreck. And on their way to a "retreat."

Billed as a seminar-type session, those on the train included family members and guests, and was being held at the Greenbrier in West Virginia.

Garbage truck. I especially noticed the locale.
"The crash occurred around 11:20 a.m. about 10 miles northwest of Charlottesville, VA."
Someone on radio or TV noted that the parents of some MS13 victim were at the SOTU address, but not the Heather Heyer family.

God wanted the GOP to stop and reflect on their murdering terrorist Nazi/Klan colleagues in Charlottesville, Virginia last summer.

(NC) Father, 42, and Daughter, 20, Arrested After Allegedly Having Baby Together

Comments:
Makes shopping for greeting cards very confusing
Yet another example of The Government trying to undermine Trumps base and white culture in The South
ivanka and donald are totally jealous
so ... now he's BOTH the baby's FATHER and GRANDFATHER ...
that's normal for North Carolina,,, it's only messed up if they marry outside the family.
Not cool but is it really that serious that the bail is set at $1M each?
according to the bible this is how earth was populated from 2 people.

Former Equifax CEO Richard Smith collects $90M for his last year of outstanding work
Equifax CEO Richard Smith announced his voluntary retirement yesterday, two months after the catastrophic breach that permanently leaked 140,000,000 Americans' most compromising financial data.

Today, we learn what his exit package amounts to: $90,000,000.
Follow-up:

Reuters: Exclusive: U.S. consumer protection official puts Equifax probe on ice - sources

Mick Mulvaney, the former loan-shark lobbyist who killed plans to regulate payday lenders after being appointed chief of the Consumer Finance Protection Board, won't punish Equifax for setting up 145 million Americans - plus a large number of Canadians - for identity theft.

Apparently it's good enough that Equifax offered free credit monitoring for a year - in return for giving up any right to sue - despite the victims' information being available to thieves for the rest of their lives.
