The Religion Thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Leonardo da Vinci's 'Salvator Mundi' painting sells for record $450M http://nbcnews.to/2mtFV9I

That's nuts.

Looks like da Vinci fell for the European jesus bs, or maybe he believed that god was a white guy with dominant genes.
Leonardo da Vinci is believed to have begun the painting while under the patronage of Louis XII of France between 1506 and 1513.

If the customer wants a Mr. Coffee, you don't give them a Keurig. ;)

I'll bet that a Semitic Jesus wouldn't have sold for $450M, either.

All true. And don't forget, after trump's cut, cut cut bill the price could have been a billion or so.

The paychecks received by the hired help to arrange chairs and cleanup after the auction is a picture perfect example of the wonders of trickle down, as they wouldn't have even had a job if rich Americans and Russians weren't able to bid nearly a half billion dollars for a wall hanging.

Thanks you rich people. You make life possible for the rest of us.

Could have built schools and hospitals, instead.

Found:
I gave up at $449M. I'll get the next one.
Oh damn. They didn't tell me that was up for auction.
That's nothing. I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico.

Married 22 year old Oklahoma Baptist University grad gets bused having sex with one of her students in OK.

Two get caught the same week.

Must be something they cover in the curriculum.

And again, I join those males asking "where were those teachers when I was in high school?"

Guest speaker removed after showing porn to students, principal says

A guest speaker was removed from a Virginia high school assembly Monday morning after an inappropriate image appeared on a large screen at the beginning of his presentation, Midlothian High School principal Shawn Abel said in a message to parents.

The image was pornographic in nature, people who were in the room during the Career Pathways program assembly at Midlothian High School told WTVR. The assembly was attended by the school's sophomore class.

Multiple students said after the inappropriate image appeared, the guest presenter threw up his hands and said, "That’s not mine." ...

WTVR has confirmed that the guest speaker was employed with Bon Secours (Catholic) Health System as an X-ray technician....

I was arguing with some lady on Facebook the other day. I asked her how she came to the conclusion the pope was the false prophet spoken about in the Bible. She retorted that the holy ghost has spoken to her and revealed it is such. I conceded the debate to her after that point, because how can you argue with someone who speaks with the holy ghost?

I might have had to ask her a few respectful questions... like is the "holy ghost" similar to regular ghosts, and do you believe in regular ghosts? Did you see this ghost, or just hear it? Did is speak with sound, in English, or did you hear it only in your head. I'd be interested in knowing that.

I thought a ghost spoke to a group of us one night after breaking into Fort Gaines in the middle of the night. We didn't have a lengthy conversation - not sure anyone said anything until we were back in Mobile.

Looking back - it was probably a sump pump kicking on.

it was the 60s and there were drugs involved.

one of the group - a history major and Mobile native - stood on the wall overlooking the pass and described the Battle of Mobile Bay like it was happening with all the special effects, or maybe that was just the way we saw it

It's a good thing ghosts carry identification. Ask her for winning lottery numbers for proof of real ghost.

Wait... Wtf. Youve gotta point. How do we know she was talking to the one and only holy ghost and not just a run of the mill haunted house ghost playing the fool with her????

I'm cool with the holy ghost, but I still don't think I'd want him/it in my house to be honest. A ghost is a ghost.
