Pubs work on plans to outright steal next election.

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Yet another defeat for the democracy-hating, vote-suppressing GOP:

Appeals court blocks proof-of-citizenship voting requirement

What part of "illegal" does Newby not understand?

Back before my hair started bouncing and I had long luscious hair giving me the appearance of a delinquit, whenever I voted at my local hillbilly polling place the old conservative looking poll attendees would always near hover over my shoulder like they were trying to glance at my vote. Personal anecdote yeah, but I always found it weird how close they'd stand next to me when I was voting. Maybe it was nothing I don't know.

Makes sense, now that I think of it he kept getting real close and sniffing my hair, whispering "if you vote Romney, we can take this one step further..."

Still not sure what to make of it...

Federal judge extends Florida voter registration deadline

... Florida Republican Gov. Rick Scott had opposed the extension, saying last week that "people have had time to register." ...
In 2012 150K registered in the last week in FL.

No extension for NC voter registration after Hurricane Matthew

I guess NC has same day registration with early voting. So, it's not that bad here if one can get to a polling station.

ACLU petition:
To Secretaries of State Kris Kobach (KS) and Jon Husted (OH) and Governor Scott Walker (WI):

Creating delays that prevent people from exercising their right to vote is unacceptable. Ensure expedited implementation of court orders so that all eligible voters in your states can get to the polls.

Yes, but only because the Federal court overturned the misnamed "Voter ID" law that had also eliminated it. Republicans tried real hard to eliminate same day registration. Scumbags.

Yeah, that plus "Duke" McCrory's refusal to extend the registration deadline would have been even worse for flood victims. Now, he's playing their savior though he's doing what any Gov. would do.

We each picked up 2 of the I Voted stickers when we voted. When people comment, we point to our stickers and say, "twice"

Saw that, don't know how serious a proposal it is.
Republicans could retake NC Supreme Court

... This could be a risky move for legislators and the governor, political expert Eric Heberlig said.

“There is a political risk,” Heberlig said. “It’ll be seen for the obvious political move it is, which is to overturn the result of the (Supreme Court) election.”

For that reason, Republican Sen. Jeff Tarte said he doesn’t like the idea at all.

“That’s one of the stupidest ideas I’ve ever heard of.
I mean, we’ve got to quit doing stupid party politics when people are going in or going out of office,” Tarte said....
