Gun Legislation

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Bryan Moles: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

You gotta love the irony in an ammosexual Trump-lover getting busted for having guns at Trump International Hotel.
At least it's consistent with guns not being allowed at CPAC, the Republican National Convention or anywhere else Republicans gather.
Yeah, that was a good one. To be fair, I don't know what Trump International Hotel's gun policy is. The tip came from someone in PA (not sure what's up with that) and he was charged with not having a CCW permit for the pistol in the glovebox.

So in Tennessee, you don't even have to say "I wuz skeered" to shoot your girl friend. You can just say "opps."
How in any world with the smallest amount of reason can this guy not get charged with involuntary manslaughter - the same charge he would likely face if he had accidentally run over her in the car, run into somebody else on the road and killed them, or for that matter just giving her an accidental fatal amount of alcohol in celebration of graduation.

How by any stretch of imagination is "playing with" a loaded gun (or one you didn't bother to check to see if it was loaded) not criminal negligence?

I saw that about the "experienced gun owner." That's part of why I think he should face charges. If he'd never had a gun before and somebody gave him one with no instruction, maybe I'd charge the father instead. But the fact that he's supposedly experienced makes his negligence even more clear. Ignorance, even if not a good excuse, can sometimes be a valid reason. Knowing what to do and not doing it is negligent.

I'll bet that Luna’s father blames himself along with Fields. My practice is to not give guns, meth or children's ATVs as gifts.

---------------------------- Original Message ----------------------------
Subject: Thank Your House Lawmakers for Opposing HB 746, the Permitless
Carry Bill
From: "NCGV" <ncgv@ncgv.org>
Date: Mon, June 12, 2017 4:52 am
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

While HB 746, the permitless carry bill, passed the state house on
Wednesday it was a tigh vote: 65 to 54. All Democrats and 8 Republican
voted against the bill. These courageous lawmakers put children and
safety above special interest politics and also ensured that the bill did
not pass with a veto-proof majority. .

Thank you for all of your calls and emails into key lawmakers. Your
outreach ensured that HB 746 did not include elimination of the pistol
purchase permitting system and allowing campus carry.

During the debate Rep. John Faircloth (R-Guildford), a retired police
chief, pointed out that the legislation would allow anyone, including
those as young as 18 years old to fill a backpack with as many guns as it
can hold. He explained how gangs would use young adults to carry a cache
of weapons and law enforcement would have no statute to protect the
public.

Also of note, the NC Sheriffs Association, Chiefs of Police Association,
and Fraternal Order of Police also expressed opposition about the
legislation, noting their strong support for the concealed carry weapons
permitting system.

The bill now moves to the Senate where it’s future is uncertain. But
first, it’s important that we take time to express our appreciation to
supporters in the House.

Please call these lawmakers to thank them for being brave by putting
communities above special interest groups. Here is a sample message: “I
am calling to thank the representative for standing up for the safety of
North Carolinians by voting against HB 746, the Permitless Gun Carry
Bill.”

Rep. John Fraley – 919-733-5741

Rep. Ted Davis Jr. - 919-733-5786

Rep. D. Craig Horn - 919-733-2406

Rep. Frank Iler - 919-301-1450

Rep. Chuck McGrady - 919-733-5956

Rep. Sam Watford – 919-715-2526

Rep. Linda Hun Williams - 919-733-2962

Rep. Brian Turner - 919-715-3012

Randi was interviewed and said that when he heard the first shot he didn't think anything about it because he's from the south where you hear guns discharge all the time.

I slightly embellish slightly because after all it was the liar Randi paul.

No surprise here. I'm sure the nut jobs are going to run with this, blaming Democrats. How long until the shooter is called a "hired gun."

It’s going to be hard for MSM to spin that.
This is a game changer.
When will the mainstream media stop radicalizing domestic terrorists with their hysterical anti-Trump narrative?
It has to stop now before more innocent people are targeted.
Can't wait to see the Facebook posts that are sure to come.

Man. I really hate the politicizing of things like this. By both sides. But they'll continue to do it and we'll all suffer the consequences. Whenever something like this happens, those on the opposition secretly jump for joy because they finally got another "told ya so" to throw around.

The emerging narrative:
Leftists/Democrats are being pushed over the edge via the mainstream media propoganda machine. They have a penchant for resorting to violence, and the attempted assassination of Republican congressmen is proof. They're a danger to our republic due to their unstable nature and irrational hatred of our president. They are Anarchists, communists, Marxists, etc
I think this narrative is going to be trumped (no pun intended) up in the coming days.

Also: the "Russia collusion" story is going to be discredited and used as an example of the mainstream media acting irresponsibly by continuing to push it and driving some over the edge, since the latest talking points on the right is that the Comey and sessions testimonies have vindicated the Trump campaign.
