I love to fish. Seems I have less time to fish now than I did before I retired. Strange.

I don't fish, but I'm pretty good on a nice boat on a warm sunny day at opening and passing around beers.

Give a man a fish, and you'll feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, and he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Never take a Baptist fishin' with ya- he won't bring beer but he'll drink all yours. Instead, take two- they'll watch each other and neither of them will drink a beer.

Give a hungry man a fish and you have fed him for a day, but give him a case of dynamite and soon the entire village will be showered with mud and water and hard-to-identify little chunks of fish.

A smart game warden would have dropped the lit dynamite in the bottom of the boat out of Claude's reach jumped in the water and said, "Yew gonna set there an' argue, or swim?"
Good point. But then there wouldn't have been a story near as funny.

First bass of the season. Nothing to brag about (I'm going to do so anyway) but at least it's something.

I almost caught a massive tree too, but it got away with my lure:

Caught a bunch of stripers on Lake Murray, SC last weekend. Largest was about 8.5 lbs. caught with live herring.

Nice, lets see some pics if you have any!

I've always wanted to go fishing down at lake Murray. I bet that lake is packed with some nice fish. My cousin caught a 40+ pound striper sometime back in winter in one of the back bays. I'll see if I can dig the picture up. The last time I went striper fishing was probably three or four years ago.

Saltwater Fishing

Unread post by JTA »

I'm heading down to the Beaufort area in a few weeks and plan on doing some salt water fishing. I've never been saltwater fishing in SC, has anyone here been? Want type of fish can I fish for, and what types of bait and rigs are best? Any suggestions? I usually fish for flounder, weakfish, and striper, but wouldn't mind trying to catch some other types of fish.

The most serious doubt that has been thrown on the authenticity of the biblical miracles is the fact that most of the witnesses in regard to them were fishermen.
