The LEO thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Summary: Leo Lyons pulls "facts" out of his ass, again. EVERY source says that the death sentence costs more.
So what?
You can tell it's the first of the month; Vrede's on the rag; either that or the Friday night wrasslin' match took a toll on him and he couldn't clear his head to post an intelligent reply...oh wait, that intelligent thing...never mind.

Three shots of Winchester Super-X 30.06 rounds @ $1.10 each = $3.30 ----
Hourly pay of seven members of a firing squad @ approximately $25.00 an hour = $175.00 ----
Hourly pay of two body picker-uppers @ $19.00 an hour = $38.00 ----
transport to a morgue @ $250.00 ----

Total (roughly) is $466.30 -------- Problem Solved.

Vrede, stick this up your ass and "fact" it.

Thanks, but it's too pretty a day to screw with this mess. Good day for a good long walk downtown. That never gets old.

Yet your scenario has nothing to do with the cost of executions, but then what would you do without strawmen to destroy.

ThinkProgress: Indiana police officers charged with battery after beating handcuffed man on video.
https://thinkprogress.org/indiana-polic ... 988f02a71/

And some wonder why they are called pigs

Two men simultaneously beat the handcuffed man in the face.

Two others casually watch

A 5th is close by in the hall, but accepts the noise if the beating as normal.

5 out of 5 and toss in the chief trying to hide this abuse and,

It's all just part of everyday pig culture.

It's not my fault your comprehension is befuddled.

Well, I'll admit, you guys are a lot of fun to play with; but I wasn't aware I was destroying you. Sorry.

The ones who call LEO's pigs are the LSD brain-damaged throw-backs from the seventies who never grew up. Had that POS spit on me, I wouldn't have punched him the face, I would have pissed in his (not really), but he would be wearing a face harness the rest of the night.
As for the cops, they and their boss should be fired.

I should have wrote thus: Rockefeller Center is just one attraction; I'm one of the other attractions! :D
I thought you wrote recently you were in Maine?
I have an invite to winter with an old friend in Sanibel; I may take her up on it.

I absolutely agree with the face mask, but the cops you say should be fired are in the majority of cops. The bad apple claim is refuted over and over when multiple pigs beat defenseless criminals.
Too bad the few of you who claim to follow the rules get mislabeled as pigs.

Thanks. It's called 'guilt by association'

Too often the "I'm in charge here" complex overshadows the LEO's better judgement, and they find themselves hauled up on charges for offenses they would never dream of ever happening to them. That one moment of "how dare you run from me" anger will ruin him/her forever; just because they let their emotions get the best of them.

Another scenario is the "I'm better than you" complex. A few years ago, I was window looking in downtown Billings when a uniformed officer came up and asked me for ID, as I "looked like someone the PD had been looking for". I assured him it wasn't me because I was passing through and had stopped to have my A/C repaired at a shop down the street. He insisted on my ID with his tone changing to that of indifference and belittling. I showed him my driver's license, and after asking a few more questions, he gave me an 'oh well' sort of mumbling and didn't offer any apology. I asked how long he had been a LEO and he replied that was NOMB. I then said he needed to be professional instead of an asshole. He said I had no idea what a cop goes through and I was lucky he didn't take me to jail for "resisting".

I showed him my USGOV-ID. Oops.

And another part of the problem is that "think blue line" attitude where poor conduct/attitude is hidden/excused/ignored. And an attitude on the part of city councils that unless the cops behaviour actually breaks a law that it must be OK. I understand that cops get a lot of abuse from the public and need to stick together to some degree, and also should be protected from arbitrary action by the city based on politics or personal rift. And I support the law officer's "bill of rights" such as that in Florida, and I support police unions. But still... if a guy's beating up a cuffed citizen (for example), fire his ass and anybody who stood by or helped.
