The Worker Thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

I think it was more of the repug attacks on the Clintons for the past 25 years that cost her the election. I supported Bernie and wished that she hadn't run. There was just too much baggage - all lies, but baggage nonetheless.

Poll white women as see how many believe

she murdered Vince foster
Whitewater was an illegal money making scam
she and bill sold drugs in Arkansas
she ran a sex ring
Rosewater was something bad that she did
Travelgate was bad too
Benghazi was even worse. It was so bad that there were years of hearings and it was on the news every day.
these facts are proof that she is a liar.

I'm not sure that the Socialism yoke around Bernie's neck would have played any better with my fellow Americans, but I sure wish he had had the chance.

Politics is a blood sport. If you can't overcome the attacks, legit or lies, you lose.

No one can say for sure, but things suggesting that Bernie would have won in the general are:

Hillary won the popular vote and few of her voters would have ever chosen Trump, instead.
Hillary barely lost the electoral vote in a few key states where white working and middle class voters were key.
Bernie consistently did better among white working and middle class voters than Hillary.
Bernie consistently polled better vs. Trump than Hillary.

Got an RNC "survey" in the mail. They don't care about the answers and probably never look at or tally them. They just want a donation. Anyhow, one of the questions caught my attention:

Should President Trump issue an Executive Order to suspend government unions so that his Administration can quickly move to fire federal employees found to be unnecessary, incompetent, or unresponsive to their mission of serving the American people?

I didn't know that he could do that or that it is being considered. So, either the question is a lie to potential donors or they're really contemplating unleashing a shitstorm.

I used reverse donations for years, but they took me off of most of their lists recently.

You can stuff about a pound of junk mail, or paper in those pre-paid envelopes.

Great minds   . As I was writing the above post I went and checked anticipating that I could tell y'all I was doing the same thing, but the return envelope is not pre-paid.

That's too bad. I must not have been the only one sending all I could stuff into those postage paid envelopes. I did it for years.

Not sure how they got my name but my mailbox was flooded in 2008 with repug mail. That was when I started stuffing the postage paid return envelopes. I didn't get anything from there in 2016.

I don't get too much, but some of it is because I'm registered Unaffiliated. I used to lie on telephone surveys, but that got me on too many GOP lists. Now, I screen and don't answer, especially during election season.

Raising the minimum wage to $15 by 2024 would lift wages for 41 million American workers

Petition to Congress:

"Stop attacking workers and instead pass the Raise the Wage Act, which would give more than 40 million Americans a raise by increasing the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2024."

Give mom a raise on Mother’s Day

To: President Donald Trump and all members of Congress

Family values starts with family economics. On Mother’s Day, we demand that you champion economic policies that put more money into the pockets of working moms. If Congress was to raise the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour, that would increase the pay of 32 percent of working moms―7.6 million people.

WE DEMAND. Demand my ass! You frigging snowflakes think the political machine is going to come to a grinding halt and go in reverse because some lily ass group is petitioning and protesting? I can see them now, running shrieking away, and screaming "the snowflakes are demanding! The snowflakes are demanding! Run, hide! Oh whatever are we going to do? oh boo damn frigging hoo!"

Homo's "mom" was a working mom. She worked Reynolds Ave in N. Charleston, and Spruill Ave as far down as Amvets and The Americana Motor Lodge.

I hear that homerfobe sometimes get $15 an hour. Never more than that, though. He's not as pretty and flexible as he used to be.

He doesn't have to be either to take his tooth out and give a blow job. $15/hr seems a bit generous, unless, of course, that includes about 6 BJs per hour . . . .
