always the asshole urban may go down with this one

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ncaafb ... spartanntp ...
Ohio State places Urban Meyer on paid administrative leave

Probably covered up a coach's domestic violence. A guess - he'll never be back, anywhere. #MeToo

After FSU, AL and Clemson, my top school for this to happen to.
Opps.

Urban Meyer given 3-game suspension, will return as Ohio State football coach

The horror.

Comments:
Actually I’m a little surprised it just wasn’t for the first half of spring practice game.
Wouldn't be surprised if Meyer is coaching the first 3 games via a headset.
He won’t be suspended for Penn State, Michigan State or Michigan
:D True. Oregon St., Rutgers, TCU, then a warmup game for him vs. Tulane before Penn State on 9/29.
It took 12 hours for that?
Did anyone actually think OSU's priorities would be anything but winning football games?

I'm not going to look for it now, but I read yesterday or the day before that the investigation knew that Urban discussed how to delete text from his phone - after he was caught lying at the press conference, but nobody even tried to look.

Florida knew what they had and Ohio State knew what they were getting.
Notice how quick Florida got rid of the ones who don't play felons and went back to an Urban protege.
Notice how quick Ohio State swept this under the rug.

Yep, Ohio State sucks.

Sounds like your scheme would add to the total number of postseason games. If so, that would add to revenues unless it means that lesser games would become less profitable.

@Missouri +14 vs #2 Georgia, I can dream. Crap, GA won the Push with a garbage FG with less than 2 min. left :( . Oh well, was close to being a garbage TD. :D
#23 Boston Coll. -7 vs @Purdue. Nope, bye-bye top 25.
@Georgia Tech +16.5 vs #3 Clemson, I can dream.
@#21 Miami (FL) -26.5 vs Florida Intl.
@Texas +3.5 vs #17 TCU, knock it out of the top 25.
#24 Michigan St. -4.5 vs @Indiana, how far MSU has fallen that the spread vs IN is so low.
Arkansas +29.5 vs @#9 Auburn, not that I care about Arkansas, I'm just anti-SEC dominance.
@#20 Oregon +2 vs #7 Stanford, tough one for me, I like Stanford and like that it's in the top 10, but I like Oregon more and it is 3-0. Maybe it could even make top 10 until WA beats it.
#18 Wisconsin -3 vs @Iowa
@#10 Washington -17 vs Arizona St.

Holy shit - UNC won a game!
And the Terps ran up the score on Minnesota.
And FSU has fallen far from "The Program" to leading some directional school from Illinois by 7 at the half at home.

... UCF and Boise need to try playing a schedule. Until then, it's all whining.
So does Clemson. The only currently ranked teams it plays are #22 TAMU (barely won 28-26), likely unranked if it loses to AL today, and #23 Boston College - got crushed by Purdue today, will be unranked tomorrow.

Over lowly 2-2 Pitt, 38-35.

Minnesota was 3-0 vs. weak teams. MD is very erratic this year.

All good.

Georgia lucked up on a single play 14 point swing.

The announcers said that there wasn't a goal line camera. I thought there always was on big games.
The official who called the touchdown probably didn't have a good view of the ball, only the wide open ball carrier.

The Georgia player appears to drop the ball as he crosses the line but before the ball crosses. Mizzou picked it up and ran for a touchdown.

Well of course "lowly." It's not like they'd have likely won against anybody who was in the top 100 or so.

Speaking of running up the score: Appalachian State 72 - Gardner Webb 7. Yo billy.p - do you think the Apps cleared the bench after the first quarter or at least the half?

They "only" scored 20 after halftime.

Can't imagine Auburn running the score up like that. If we get a solid lead, the bench will be in.
Okay, 31-3, 8 minutes left, y'all can stop running the score up now. ;)

TAMU beat the 27-point spread vs AL by 5.

Upsets:
#13 Virginia Tech 35, 0-3, 27.5 point underdog @Old Dominion 49. OD had never beaten a Power 5 conference team.
#17 TCU 16, 3 point underdog @Texas 31.
#14 Mississippi St. 7, 9.5 point underdog @Kentucky 28.
@#15 Oklahoma St. 17, 13 point underdog Texas Tech 41.

Near upset:
@#5 Oklahoma 28, 32 point underdog Army 21 in OT.

I picked all of these.

#18 Wisconsin -3 vs @Iowa. WI won with a TD with less than a minute left, then an INT followed by a gravy TD with 20 seconds left.
@#10 Washington -17 vs Arizona St.
Arkansas +29.5 vs @#9 Auburn, not that I care about Arkansas, I'm just anti-SEC dominance. Grrr, if Auburn had not run up the score ;) , I would be in a 3 way-tie for first if Washington beats the spread, a 4 way-tie for first if Arizona St beats the spread. Instead, I finish penniless tied for 4th or 5th.

I didn't see us running up the score. I saw us struggle for every yard. Either Arkansas has more than anyone knows or we suck.

They held our entire team to less than 100 yards rushing and beat us in rushing and passing.

Coaches' and AP Rankings

Why is Clemson #2 or #3 when it has not played anyone that's currently ranked and won't until 11/17, if #22 Duke is even still ranked then?

Why is Oklahoma #5 or #6 when it has not played anyone that's currently ranked and Army, Army! took it to OT?

Why are other undefeated teams not ranked at the same level as these two?

Why is undefeated #7 Stanford ranked lower than these two when it beat #19 or #20 Oregon?

Why is undefeated #5 or #6 LSU ranked lower than Clemson when it beat #10 Auburn and #16 Miami?

Why is #10 Auburn ranked lower than Clemson and Oklahoma when it beat #11 Washington and lost to #5 or #6 LSU by a single point?

There may be other stupidity, I didn't check all of the undefeated and 1-loss teams' records so far.

Unfortunately, that "bar talk" has real world consequences.

TV guys said that Boston College (before getting creamed by Purdue) was Clemson's toughest remaining opponent, and Clemson had a 71% chance of winning that game. If Duke and Miami stumble, it could waltz into the playoffs without beating a single ranked team.

Unlike Clemson, at least Oklahoma will be playing some real teams later - Texas, Texas Tech, West Virginia, etc. - and will have to prove whether it deserves a top ranking.

Georgia should have lost. A 14 point bad call, the ref blocking on the punt return (kicker probably couldn't have tackled him anyway), and there (I didn't watch the first half) supposedly was another questionable score.

They looked almost as bad as Auburn and Miss State did.

It's getting more competitive now.

Go:

La Lafayette +49 vs @#1 Alabama. Must be the SEC's favorite punching bag. 2 weeks ago Mississippi St beat them 56-10.
#12 West Virginia -3.5 vs @#25 Texas Tech. Knock them back out of the top 25.
#18 Texas -8.5 vs @Kansas St. Austin Power - I crack myself up.
@#13 UCF -15.5 vs Pittsburgh. Is Pitt a real team, billy.pilgrim? ;)
@#10 Auburn -28.5 vs Southern Miss. I'm counting on them to not run up the score. :P
Florida +7.5 vs @#23 Mississippi St. Knock them out of the top 25.
@#22 Duke -5 vs Virginia Tech.

That's a big fall from #13 last week to unranked and underdog to Duke.
#4 Ohio St -3.5 vs @#9 Penn St. Ooh ooh, do I want the wife beaters or the pedophiles? Shame that it's one of two great games this week. At least one gets knocked out of the top 10 and maybe the playoffs.
South Carolina (ugh) +1.5 vs @#17 Kentucky. Knock them out of the top 25.
#7 Stanford +4.5 vs @#8 Notre Dame. The other great game.
@#11 Washington -17.5 vs #20 BYU. Jah rules, Joseph Smith drools. Knock them out of the top 25.
