Dunno, but it would have been fun to see the other one go down.

Or, I'm completely wrong:

Winners and Losers: Will Saturday's string of upsets shake up CFP rankings that much?

Bowl projections after CHAOS WEEK: 2 teams from 1 conference in College Football Playoff?
How much did that wild weekend really shake things up? Let's take a look at the updated picture for all 40 bowl games.

Will only Washington, which probably lost to the best underdog, get knocked out of the playoffs in favor of Louisville? We'll see.

Then, there’s:

Big Ten tiebreakers mean Michigan and Penn State have better shots than Ohio State
Michigan still controls its own fate in the Big Ten East, but there’s a simple route for Penn State.

Penn State???!!! Ohio State fans were rooting for Michigan and Penn State fans will be rooting for Ohio State in the finale. Can you feel the love?

Before this week's games an administrator wrote, "(Vrede too) continues to flatline - in 10 weeks, he's never been more than 2 points away from .500." 14-11 this week, I’m a rock. I'm still $70 in the hole, but my plodding consistency has me tied with one other for 7th out of 17 and still with a shot at the season pot at 9 out of the lead with 3 weeks left.

Thanks, but all is good now. Gotta admit, it was a pretty rough week for all sports, starting Tuesday night. UNC goes down to Dook, Huskies roll over and play dead, Panthers end their season with a whimper. On the other hand, 'Canes won, Clemson lost, McCrory is probably toast and the NC Supreme Court gained one good guy. So the "Hawks polishing off the Pats in a manner of retribution reminiscent of a certain Super Bowl game which shall remain forever unspoken, was enough to perk up spirits all around.

Only 3 games between ranked opponents this week.

Go FCS Chattanooga and Alabama A&M . . . just kidding, both games are offline.
Go Maryland +14 vs. #19 Nebraska . . . I know, I'm a glutton for punishment.
Go Michigan St. +21.5 vs. #2 Ohio St.
Go TCU, something I never say, -4.5, keep #13 Oklahoma St. out of the top 10.
Go N.C. State +3 vs. Miami (FL).
Go #21 Florida +13.5 vs. #16 LSU.
Go Oregon +14.5, keep #11 Utah out of the top 10.
Go Pittsburgh -7.5 vs. Dook.
Go #12 Colorado -4.5 vs. #20 Washington St. . . . hate having to pick this one, but it'd be nice to see Colorado in the top 10.
Go #14 W. Michigan -33.5 vs. Buffalo. Dangerously big spread, but undefeated and Cotton Bowl, baby.
Go Wake Forest +22.5 vs. poser #5 Clemson.
Go #7 Washington -27 vs. Arizona St., still a longshot for the playoffs.
Go #10 West Virginia +2.5 vs. #8 Oklahoma, best game of the day on paper.

Never mind.

Go Michigan St. +21.5 vs. #2 Ohio St. So close. OH St should drop in the polls, but probably won’t.
Go TCU, something I never say, -4.5, keep #13 Oklahoma St. out of the top 10.

Go Pittsburgh -7.5 vs. Dook. Wow.

Go #7 Washington -27 vs. Arizona St., still a longshot for the playoffs.  , but missed the spread by 1. :(
Go #10 West Virginia +2.5 vs. #8 Oklahoma, best game of the day on paper.
I led briefly, but finished 15-16. I am the undeniable champ of mediocrity. I'm at 7th out of 17 on the season, am out of the running for the season pot, and am at 15th for money with $85 in and only $15 back with just 2 weeks left.

Playoff Selection Committee Poll on Tuesday.

I completely take back my disappointment over Louisville's loss to Houston, looks like it helped Washington more than anyone else.

Don't give up, Ms. O Really. Either Ohio State or Michigan will knock the other one out Saturday. Washington would seem to be the natural to get the spot if it beats Washington St. Saturday then either CO or USC in the Pac 12 Championship. It's great that Washington St., CO and USC are all ranked. That will strengthen Washington's case.

If CO wins the Pac 12 Championship it might shock everyone and sneak in, but other things would have to break in its favor.
If 3 loss USC wins the Pac 12 Championship, it probably skunks the Pac 12 and may put the Big 12 in the playoffs.

Oklahoma has a case if it beats Oklahoma State Saturday, regardless, but it's got those two losses (Houston & Ohio State).

If Florida beats Alabama in the SEC Championship it's great for me, WA and many others, but I'm not sure what that will do to the playoffs. Alabama could still be in.

If Virginia Tech (most likely) or UNC beats Clemson in the ACC Championship it's great for me, WA and many others, but I'm not sure what that will do to the playoffs. Clemson could still be in.

If WI wins the Big 10 Championship over either Michigan or PSU (division tiebreaker over Ohio State), things get really messy. Two Big 10 teams in the playoffs is possible.

The Huskies lead in the Apple Cup 70-32, and have won the last 3 in a row. WaSU is 8-3 and put up a good effort at Colorado. Playing in Pullman. Might be a tough game.

stranger things have happened, but the bad news in that QB is out for the season and Bubba is out next week.

On a lighter note, watch the quick hands of big Montravius last Sat. 2nd interception for the big boy, but the 1st caught after bouncing off the QB's helmet
