What, no bets on Auburn v Alabama State?

We bet on it. Yahoo!'s system is too dumb to remove dumb games. Every game with a top 25 team in it gets bet on unless it's played on Thursday. Occasionally, like last week, someone will space out and bet on the FCS team in an offline game. One time in a thousand they will win. The other 999 we tease them mercilessly.

I don't have a clue about this year's team, but they have a few conference championships in a conference that includes Grambling and Southern.

5-6 last year, 4-3 conference. Fired their coach after 5 losses, new one went 6-1 but got thumped by Grambling.

They did beat Tuskegee last week. :thumbup:

Could be interesting.

What, are you selling tickets? :D

And then, there's the rest of the schedule. We'll break 500, but we have 4, maybe 6 that could go either way....

Watch out for Liberty on 11/17, god cheats.

I would have to rank us higher, but I might be ever so slightly biased.

I've never been to many of those ranked higher, but I've been to several of them that didn't compare.

1st mistake in the article - tailgate starts on Wednesday, not Friday.

2nd - it's 88,000+

Also, I've never been to a game where some fan from the other team didn't say something about feeling welcome.

Also parking and tailgate spots are close to the stadium.

Besides the 88,000 inside, the estimates for those outside who just came for the tailgate, is often another 50,000. The crowd outside in 89 for the first time the bammers played us at home (for some reason we had to play on their home field every year - may be this has something to do with the little sister myth).

If you are ever in the area, stop by. If you need a ticket, there are usually some people selling tickets at gate prices if you wait until a few minutes before kickoff.

I went 5-10, tied for last this week and now on the season.

I bet on FL, but good on KY ending its 0-31 streak against it.

So close, TAMU, beating (former?) #2 Clemson would have been sweet.

Bye-bye top 25, USC.

Maryland created another Bowling Green massacre, 45-14.
Appalachian State stomped Charlotte 45-9.

O Really, I shared the article with my pool. 10 of our 18 players root for one or more of 10 of the 25 listed teams.

Really too bad about T a&m. If the ref hadn't blown the tough call, they would have had enough time to go for a stop rater than the onside kick.

The ball carrier was going for the pylon.
He and the ball were hit from the right
He ball took a more leftward trajectory than he did
He went over the pylon

Therefore, the ball could not have gone into the end zone and should have been spotted on the 1 or 2 footline where it went out of bounds.

Doubtful the outcome would have been different, but still, it would have been great.

Still not sure why they would be #2

I think they should have overturned the call on review, but I can sorta see how they decided that the angles weren't definitive. If the field call had been a fumble out of bounds BEFORE the goal line, no way would they have overturned it.

Doubtful the outcome would have been different, but still, it would have been great.

Maybe. If:
TAMU scored its TD 2 minutes earlier;
Still missed the 2-point attempt;
Still stopped the next Clemson possession;
It only would have needed a FG to win.

Still not sure why they would be #2 ...

Coaches and AP still have it at #2. It shouldn't be, especially with TAMU still unranked.

Also, not sure why USC and Michigan State are still ranked while TAMU isn't.

Appalachian State and Maryland both got votes! Looks like FL didn't get a single vote in either poll, ouch.

A little more competition this week, just 2 offline games but still plenty of massive spreads.

Go:

#18 UCF -13.5 vs @N. Carolina
@N.C. State +3.5 vs #14 West Virginia
#17 Boise St. +3 vs @#24 Oklahoma St.
#12 LSU +10 vs @#7 Auburn
#4 Ohio St. (ugh) -13 vs @#15 TCU
#10 Washington -6 vs @Utah
@S. Diego St. +3.5 vs #23 Arizona St.

Maryland didn't get much respect after beating then #23 Texas, a few votes but no ranking. This week it massacres Bowling Green and probably doesn't have even a hope for top 25 until playing #21 Michigan on 10/6.

Maryland 45, Bowling Green 14 :thumbup:

This week's even worse for offline games vs. BCS teams and blowout spreads. 2 games have top 25 teams playing each other. Of the other 23, 8 including Auburn, Oregon and Washington are offline.

Go:

Pittsburgh +9 vs #13 Penn St. Penn State 51, Pittsburgh 6 :roll:
#10 Stanford -5 vs #17 USC Stanford 17, USC 3 :thumbup:
#15 Michigan St. -6 vs Arizona St.Michigan State 13, Arizona State 16 :ateeth:

That's it. I've bet on 15 games, of course, but those are the only 3 that I care about and that might be competitive. :gthumb:

My bad, I did say that I only bet on 15, just missed that when replying earlier. I really bet on all 23, incluing betting on the favorite in the 8 offline games. No underdogs won those this week.

I don't have a clue about this year's team, but they have a few conference championships in a conference that includes Grambling and Southern. Could be interesting.

I went 7-10, a slight improvement from last week :roll: . The worst this week was 4-13, but I have the worst season record out of 18 players.

I really suck at large spread games.
There were 8 this week with spreads > 20.
4 favorites and 4 underdogs beat the spread.
Every favorite that I picked to beat the spread didn't.
4 of the 5 underdogs that I picked to beat the spread didn't.
Without these games I would have been a respectable 6-3.
