Go Seahawks > Vikings
That was about as sad and ugly a way to end the first half as possible.

What is it with the 'Hawks and the one-yard line? It's like Devil's Triangle for them.

That was weird, but a win is a win. The announcers kept mentioning that Kirk Cousins’ left DC and “signed a three-year, fully guaranteed $84 million contract as a free agent with the Vikings in 2018. At the time, this deal made him the highest paid player on a per-year basis in NFL history.”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirk_Cousins
Ouch.

Seahawks are definitely in the playoffs with 2 wins in the last 3 games, may only need 1 win.
http://scores.nbcsports.com/fb/standings.asp?type=conf
They play:
3-10 San Francisco, just thumped them 2 weeks ago.
11-2 KC, will be tough.
3-10 AZ.
Looks good.

I like the Vikings, Panthers, Eagles and Packers. As long as they keep DC out of the other wild card slot, I’m good with any of them.

Probably worried about John Jefferson in his fantasy league.

Great game. I didn't pay attention every minute, though. Not sure if they ever razzed Stephen A. Smith.

They may meet yet again. Chiefs still have the tiebreaker at the moment, but could end up losing the division and home field advantage throughout the playoffs because of this game.

Drew Brees sent commemorative ball to every receiver who helped him break all-time passing record

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees broke the NFL’s all-time career passing yards record earlier this season, passing NFL great Peyton Manning for one of the most recognized records in the sport.

He, though, isn’t forgetting who helped him along the way.

Brees sent a customized game ball this week to every player who caught a pass from him throughout his career that included their name, number of passes caught and the yards he helped contribute to Brees’ record. He also sent one to every lineman who blocked for him, too....
Mike Karney
‏ @Karney44

Thank you @drewbrees and @saints for this token of appreciation. I’m at a loss for words and can only say that it was a privilege and honor to be your teammate. You’re a class act brother and one of the greatest to ever do it!!! #Thankful 🙏🏼 #Salute ⚜️
(the pic of Mike Karney's ball won't post, below is a different one)

Image

“On October 8, 2018, we were blessed to have become the National Football League’s all-time passing yardage leader,” Brees wrote in the letters. “It is a tremendous honor, especially when one considers that some of the truly iconic figures of the NFL once held this mark. Names such as Fran Tarkenton, Brett Favre and most recently, Peyton Manning.

“I want to personally thank you for everything you did to be a part of the record-setting moment. Without your contribution this milestone would not have happened. Although they only put one name in the record book, I want you to know that I consider you to be an important part of this record.

“I was truly blessed and honored to be your teammate. Please accept this small token of my appreciation for everything you have done to help accomplish this milestone. I appreciate the time, dedication and commitment you sacrificed in order to make this record a reality. Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey.”

The 39-year-old has thrown for 3,463 yards and 31 touchdowns this season while leading the Saints to a 11-2 record.

Since breaking the record on October 8, Brees has now thrown for 73,908 yards in his career. He currently has 4,000 more yards than Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who is the closest active quarterback to the mark. Ben Roethlisberger, Eli Manning and Philip Rivers are the only other active quarterbacks in the league in the top 10 on the list, but sit nearly 15,000 yards behind Brady.
Wow. I know that he's wealthy, but that couldn't have been cheap. The bar is now raised for any future NFL record breaker. :-||

Carson Wentz is officially out for Sunday night

Unofficially questionable a day ago with a back fracture that first became a public issue this week, Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz is now officially unavailable for Sunday night’s game in L.A. against the Rams....

Wentz missed the first two games of the season while continuing to recover from a torn ACL suffered last December when the Eagles played in L.A. He may now be done for the rest of the year, as the Eagles slim playoff hopes quite likely slide to none with upcoming games against the Rams and Texans.

Nick Foles will get the start for the Eagles, returning to action roughly a year after he sparked the team to a magical run that ended with a Super Bowl win. Foles played ineffectively in Week One and Week Two, but he now gets a chance to turn the clock back to 2017, with a shot at the open market and the big payday that would go with it looming in March 2019.
A lot of teams don't have backups that are theoretically as good. We'll see.

Not that I'm anti-Panthers but good for the Browns, they've been down for so long. They've won 3 of the last 4 and still have an outside shot at a wild card spot after zero wins last year....
Baker Mayfield tosses two touchdowns, defense stops Broncos on fourth down to give Browns 17-16 win

... Mayfield started strong and finished well around a rough stretch in the middle of the contest to get a victory that keeps the Browns on the fringes of the playoff hunt....
6-7-1.
http://scores.nbcsports.com/fb/standings.asp?type=conf

Darn, I'm watching and rooting for the Colts over Dallas, but that will hurt the Browns and might hurt the Ravens. Okay, maybe I'll root for a tie.

Congrats!

The Cowboys, skunked today by the surging Colts could still lose the NFC East to hopefully the Eagles or, ugh, DC.

Even if Seattle loses it will still have the #1 wildcard slot and MN will still have the #2 wildcard slot. Good.

Ravens are still in the #1 wildcard slot and are battling the Steelers for the AFC North. I hope they both make it.
