It's hockey, Blackhawks has always been a sarcastic name. :P

Hockey is much better if you imagine the teams are fighting over the world’s last Oreo.

Possibly, but my one and only hockey game was a real disappointment.
Pensacola taxpayers for some reason brought in a hockey team. Since no one way down here knew anything about hockey, attendance was way - like way low. So they began giving out tickets to everyone but the homeless - we went with my 7 year old for cub scout night. They gave out those stupid noise sticks and we watched the two teams have fist fights until we got up and left with most of the other scout families.
After bleeding the taxpayer for a few years they left town to be replaced with another a few years later.

I went to a couple of games when I was a kid. I liked finally being able to see the puck the whole time, but otherwise wasn't that into it.

The taxpayers got off lightly if they didn't end up building an arena for billionare team owners. That's usually how it goes. In fact that's usually the whole point of NHL hockey.

our small town does love to build things for rich people. We just finished a big beautiful waterfront baseball park - did I mention it sits on really expensive downtown water frontage

Up 5-0. Barring an epic collapse in the 3rd, congrats on winning the series 4-1 in Winnipeg.

CBC: Predators to smash a plane ahead of series against Jets

Just out of morbid curiosity I checked to see whether they have the comprehension skills to select a JET for this escapade. They do not.

*sigh*

I guess now our side will have to smash an effigy of Cosby, Weinstein or Trump.

Or that.

Watch the Winnipeg player. He understands that if you're standing between the puck and the goal, you keep your eye on the puck.

C'mon. They teach this in daycare.

Which did you choose? Seems to have worked, up 3-2 and could wrap it up Monday.

Too bad about Toronto.

I meant the Toronto Raptors. The Maple Leafs lost in the 1st round.

Cavaliers eliminate Raptors. Again.

... The Cavaliers eliminated Toronto for third straight season with a 128-93 shellacking in Game 4 of their second-round sweep Monday....
Will it be Cavaliers - Golden State for a 4th straight year in the NBA Final? Shades of Celtics - Lakers when we were kids. Golden State leads the Western Conference semis series 3-1.

Back to hockey:

(Nashville) Predators stay alive (vs. Winnipeg Jets)

Ut-oh. Series tied 3-3, game 7 in Nashville. Winner plays the Vegas Golden Knights in the NHL semis.
