Any programs like that including voting booths should be completely open to audit with full source code provided, or they shouldn't be used at all.

(Woken up by alarm. Gets ready for the day.)
(Logs into work over the VPN tunnel, starts programming.)
(Gosh, it's quiet. No support calls.)
(And no-one else is logged in.)
(Checks security cameras; parking lot is empty.)
(Is today a holiday? Apparently today is a holiday.)
(What the hell is the holiday? Checks Wikipedia.)
("Civic holiday." Also known as "Terry Fox day" here in Manitoba.)
(Going back to bed.)

Recalls our ongoing discussions about the ethics of Anonymous' hacking:

They Planted Porn in ISIS Propaganda, Just for Starters, Then Sowed Chaos and Confusion in the 'Caliphate'
A small group of Iraqi hackers figured they could do a better job fighting ISIS online than most governments—and they did. And do. With a vengeance.

Bit of a clickbait headline, "Just for Starters" is key. The porn was an early action and much less subtle than what they're doing now.

With the rise of self-driving vehicles, eventually there will be a country song about how someone's truck left him.
