Realistically, the group of western NC counties unfortunately probably should, by population, have a RepuQ rep. Your (collective) mission, should you choose to accept it, is to get one that is reasonably qualified and understands that Asheville Matters too. Even a RepuQ can do good things for his/her district if that's what they focus on and not on culture wars and fictional issues.
I would love to see cheap, plentiful, sustainable lobster, scallops and other shellfish, and football without CTE, but . . .
I had hopes in the past, but the WNC leopards aren't changing their spots.
True, but I think he was more a theoretical wingnut rather than a proven one back then. I HOPE that he would have lost in Nov 2022, but you may be correct.
Well, Cathy McMorris Rogers WA-05 is a good example of how even a right-wing loon can behave herself, not embarrass her district and get stuff done for her constituents.
Yes, Rogers is a right-winger and votes along with the other droolers. But she focuses on a lot of local issues, doesn't hang out with the Boeberts et. al., presents herself as a really nice person you'd like to have as a neighbor, and has done a lot for the area.
Less than 48 hours after his shocking defeat in North Carolina’s primary election, Rep. Madison Cawthorn took to Instagram to post a defiant, vengeful, and typo-riddled message promising a “Dark MAGA” comeback....

When the establishment turned their guns on me, when the Uni-party coalesced to defeat an America First member very few people had my back. This list includes the lion share of figures that came to my defense when it was not politically profitable. These are honorable men and women who are the type of friends anyone yearns to have. “At the beginning of a change the patriot is a rare and hated man.” These are those rare and hated men/women. There are other National figures who I believe are patriots, but I am on a mission now to expose those who say and promise one thing yet legislate and work towards another, self-profiteering, globalist goal. The time for gentile politics as usual has come to an end. It’s time for the rise of the new right, it’s time for Dark MAGA to truly take command. We have an enemy to defeat, but we will never be able to defeat them until we defeat the cowardly and weak members of our own party. Their days are numbered. We are coming.

Yikes, someone needs his nippy nap, he's going full Adolph.
(BTW, what exactly does he think we've been living through since 2016?)
Eamus Catuli~AC 000000000101010202020303010304 020405....Ahhhh, forget it, it's gonna be a while.
He has always been irrelevant, just with lots of press coverage.
Can't get much more irrelevant that a first-year minority party back bencher who doesn't even bother to try to work with his colleagues, help his constituents or propose legislation.

Pretty sure the press coverage is the only metric on your list that MadCaw remotely cares about.

I think he proposed several DOA bills.
Maybe, but his own statement was that he assembled his team "for the comms" and not for legislation. Anyway, proposing DOA bills is pretty irrelevant in itself.

Yeah, the DOA bills were more "for the comms" and the $$$ than they ever were for the nation or NC11.
Still, despite screwing up in every way imaginable and running a crappy campaign, he came thaaat close to winning the nomination. This is both incredible and very depressing.
