Can't they just find real issues to champion? There's plenty of stuff out there.
Their ideology is on the losing end of most real issues. The culture war including Barbiefascism (never thought I'd have to invent that word) is a sign of their desperation.
Not to mention they have no plans or real vision.
Good word though.
Agreed and thanks. Speaking of "no plans or real vision":
Sen. John Fetterman (D-Penn.) came out swinging after Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) took a dig at his clothing on Thursday.
“Government shutdown in t-minus 16 days,” Fetterman wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, referring to the House’s failure to pass spending bills. “Instead of crying about how I dress, how about you get your shit together and do your job, bud?” ...

He's too busy defending "family values".

... “I never dated Matt Gaetz,” she said. “I have much higher standards in men, and Matt, frankly, is a very unserious politician. We see that today with the ruckus that he is causing on Capitol Hill with the spending negotiations. And I don’t really have much else to say to somebody that is more concerned about a sound bite than actually passing legislation.” ...
Daddy Don - hmmm, coincidental name? - quietly used his money and influence to enable drunk driving Matt. Otherwise, there may never have been Goofy Matt's crazed political career.
I didn't think much of Cassidy's Kimmel appearance. Maybe she was starstruck or maybe she's just no good at comic repartee, but she seemed way too giggly throughout as compared with other interviews she's done. I thought this detracted from the seriousness of her testimony and book revelations.
Also, I don't blame her for writing about Goofy Gaetz's stupid pass at Camp David. It's revealing about Gaetz and perhaps about pre-SINO McCarthy's chivalry. However, I do wonder about the media's obsession with it. Hutchinson is one of our best firsthand chroniclers of literal treason, yet there's all of this focus on a salacious anecdote. It's not like Matt was her boss or was abusive. It's what players and wannabe players do - make 20 stupid passes and maybe one gets Gaetz laid.
There's something seriously wrong with the US when one guy out of 435, elected by fewer than 200k voters, and holding no significant Congressional leadership position can create as much damage as this clown does.

Well yeah....and no.
McCarthy made a deal with the devil(s) to take the gavel and paid the piper.
Guessing the next guy won't make the same mistake, also guessing the speakership isn't going to be filled particularly fast and it's going to be a real watch the sausage get made process.
Grab the popcorn.

Yeah, I'm not saying that in this case, McCarthy didn't tie his own noose, but still. The operation of the government of a country of 330 million shouldn't be at risk because of one, or a small handful, of imbecilic lunatics. Maybe they should have a rule that if you toss out your own Speaker for anything other than an impeachable cause, that the other side gets to put their guy in.
... His own sister-in-law publicly called him a “creep” for allegedly trying to set her up with a much older man when she was 19. She also called him a(n) ... “ephebophile”—which is being attracted to postpubescent teens ...
Gotta love those xtian con FL1 voters. They remind me of xtian con NC11 voters.
... During much of last year, in the wake of former Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.) alleging members of his own party have invited him to orgies and done cocaine in front of him, we were treated to one leaked hit piece about Cawthorn after another until he was successfully primaried by an opponent endorsed by top Republicans. I guess we’ll see what’s next for Gaetz and the seven Republican House members who joined him in ousting McCarthy this week.
This woman makes me think so many of those words that long ago required an intense effort to remove from my vocabulary. Occasionally one will come to mind, only to be instantly replaced with something acceptable, but when I see this Greene woman they All come tumbling down and almost out.
Trump: “We had the safest border in the history of our country - or at least recorded history. I guess maybe a thousand years ago it was even better.”

As far as she's concerned, go with your instincts.

... McCarthy, in turn, told reporters that Gaetz and Co. had done “insurmountable” damage to the country, and that he was “concerned about where we go from here.”
