President* Trump

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

After a Grateful Dead show in Oakland we got in a kid that was found doing that in a Holiday Inn parking lot. After remarking on his flexibility, we had a discussion about whether 'auto fellatio' was the correct term for what he was doing or whether it describes getting a blow job in a car. I gave him an inflated exam glove with a face drawn on it. He was very pleased with it and did not attempt a repeat of his contortion act.

On Nov. 9, 2016 banni wondered when he should reallocate his retirement account/s. I jokingly suggested Nov. 7. That would have been precipitous. We've been fortunate that the Obama economy has kept chugging along and that the GOP and President* Trump haven't done a thing that affects the economy. However, between the Russia scandal, the collapse of DonTcare and Dolt .45's increasingly erratic behavior, I think the markets will get nervous and the Trump Crash may be coming soon. So, I've now reallocated away from stocks and into safer securities. Hopefully, there won't be some drastic change on Monday before my changes go through. I did not go all the way, though. We'll see if I'm too optimistic or pessimistic. Today's DJA is 21,830 and the Nasdaq is 6,375.

I'm with ya man, I have yet to put mine into some safer options. Considering the damages that Trump could cause, I'm not sure there are any safe options.

The good thing is congress is such a clusterfuck they're not likely to get much passed at all. Trump has exhausted any unearned political capital he once had IMHO. At this point he's a lame duck.

In other news google agrees, I just googled lame duck and Trump is in the first results. :lol:

Be sure and read the entire New Yorker interview.
It's delicious.
Anthony Scaramucci Called Me to Unload About White House Leakers, Reince Priebus, and Steve Bannon
He started by threatening to fire the entire White House communications staff. It escalated from there.

Wow, just one part:
Scaramucci was particularly incensed by a Politico report about his financial-disclosure form, which he viewed as an illegal act of retaliation by Priebus. The reporter said Thursday morning that the document was publicly available and she had obtained it from the Export-Import Bank. Scaramucci didn’t know this at the time, and he insisted to me that Priebus had leaked the document, and that the act was “a felony.”

“I’ve called the F.B.I. and the Department of Justice,” he told me.

“Are you serious?” I asked.

“The swamp will not defeat him,” he said, breaking into the third person. “They’re trying to resist me, but it’s not going to work. I’ve done nothing wrong on my financial disclosures, so they’re going to have to go fuck themselves.”
:lol: "the document was publicly available"
“Reince is a fucking paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac,” Scaramucci said.
Mirror.

In just the past week President* Trump has been rebuked by:
The Senate GOP for trashing Sessions;
The Boy Scouts for his rambling, mean-spirited, uber-partisan speech;
Police chiefs for advocating illegal violent abuse;
The Pentagon for his tweeted transgender non-policy;
The Senate again on DonTcare.

Not my usual allies, but I'll take it.

Fwiw, "The average tenure for a White House chief of staff is a little more than 18 months."

Obama had 4 in his first 4 years, all lasted longer than 6 months.
Rahm Emanuel "resigned as chief of staff to run as a candidate in Chicago's 2011 mayoral election."
Pete Rouse "became the 'interim' Chief of Staff at the White House and then "was promoted to the role of Counselor to the President" and stayed on almost 2 more years.
Jack Lew left to become Secretary of the Treasury.

None of them compare to Priebus being sloppily ousted in disgrace. Then, Denis McDonough was White House chief of staff for Obama's entire 2nd term. The average tenure for an Obama White House chief of staff was 19.2 months.

And now Scaramucci is fired. One can imagine the stunned look on the faces of the Chinese executives who overpaid for his hedge fund, no doubt expecting something in return from the White House.

I hope Scaramucci's ex-wife-to-be has the courtesy to send him a condolences text.

Paul Manafort leaving the Trump campaign was supposed to give him a "clean slate."

After all the bad revelations about Trump during the election, he said he was starting his Presidency with a "clean slate."

Sean Spicer said he left his position to give Scaramucci "a clean slate to start from."

Ten days later Scaramucci is out, the White House issuing a statement saying, "Mr. Scaramucci felt it was best to give Chief of Staff John Kelly a clean slate."

There's something very wrong with that slate.

Okay, who had 11 days in the pool? There have been sites betting on President* Trump's means and date of exit since January. Wouldn't surprise me if some are now including individual staffers.

Hint: How did Scaramucci compare himself and Bannon?

(As White House Communications Director, it's the one thing he managed to communicate.)
