President* Trump

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

At just 10 days Scaramucci beat the previous record by a day.
Jack Koehler (March 1 - March 13, 1987, 11 days)

... Koehler resigned after just one week in the White House after it became public that he had been a member of the Deutsches Jungvolk, a Nazi government youth division, when he was ten years old. Koehler insisted that his membership in the Jungvolk was not the reason for his resignation, dismissing the Jungvolk as "the Boy Scouts run by the Nazi party." Rather he wanted to give his successor time to choose a new communication team....
Fair to Koehler or not (doesn't sound fair to me), it's pretty bad that an actual Nazi lasted longer than wannabe Nazi Scaramucci.

Boy Scouts 'Unaware' of Call Trump Said He Received From Organization Praising Jamboree Speech

President Donald Trump told the Wall Street Journal that after his controversial speech at the Boy Scouts National Jamboree in West Virginia, the head of the Boy Scouts called him and told him it was “the greatest speech that was ever made to them.” But the organization told TIME they are unaware of any call from national leadership placed to the White House.

“The Chief Scout Executive’s message to the Scouting community speaks for itself,” the organization said, referring to a July 27 statement from Michael Surbaugh, the Chief Scout Executive for the Boy Scouts of America, who apologized to anyone in the scouting community who could have been offended or alarmed by the political rhetoric in the speech.

“For years, people have called upon us to take a position on political issues, and we have steadfastly remained non-partisan and refused to comment on political matters. We sincerely regret that politics were inserted into the Scouting program,” Surbaugh wrote....

I thought about quoting a few choice bits, but there are too many.
Too bad the WSJ didn't hammer him on a few things.

Why doesn't this get more attention

“I hate taking these people. I guarantee you they are bad. That is why they are in prison right now. They are not going to be wonderful people who go on to work for the local milk people.”

Milk people is racist for white people.

Found. All the comments that he was anointed by God are a hoot, but this is kind of frightening.
The LEGISLATIVE branch of government is useless.....we can do without them....none of them care about you or me....none of them can agree on anything....let TRUMP govern and let the SCOTUS determine if anything he does is unconstitutional.....

They also object to the courts getting in his way. Not saying that it will happen here, but how dictators achieve power is more relatable for Americans now.

... between the Russia scandal, the collapse of DonTcare and Dolt .45's increasingly erratic behavior, I think the markets will get nervous and the Trump Crash may be coming soon. So, I've now reallocated away from stocks and into safer securities. Hopefully, there won't be some drastic change on Monday before my changes go through. I did not go all the way, though. We'll see if I'm too optimistic or pessimistic. Today's DJA is 21,830 and the Nasdaq is 6,375.
Too soon to make any judgements, but I wanted to add the S&P 500 INDEX to the monitoring. On July 29 it was at 2,472. I don't know which if any of these my 403B is more closely tied to.

Aug. 9:
DJA - 22,085
Nasdaq - 6,370
S&P 500 - 2,475

I don't know much about stock markets, but I know a little about retirement plans. The Dow is mostly big industrial stocks; Nasdaq is mostly tech. S&P is a wider range, more a portrayal of the market as a whole. Some plans do offer a choice to buy the S&P. Most plans offer only choices that even the most aggressive is pretty conservative. Plan sponsors aren't that interested in getting sued for poor fiduciary management.

Though much less in stocks than it was, mine was and remains balanced between "large cap", "small/med cap" and "global". The materials I get don't say whether they rely more on one index or another. I did not reduce my "global" share yet. If my pessimism is accurate, I don't know whether "global" stocks would crash along with the US or whether they'll do well as an alternative. Anyhow, it's all pure guesswork for me. I don't have the patience to get expert at this. The last time I made a major move was when I put all of my pay into the 403B in early 2009 during the Shrubcession. That worked out to be perfect timing.

That's terrifying. Funny they didn't ask for that during Obama's term. Are they going to selectively apply those rules?
