Trump Administration* - Fired / Quit

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Trump Administration* - Fired / Quit

Unread post by rstrong »

It's gotten hard to keep track of all these folks, so I figure it's time to start keeping a list. Please update, expand and add links as needed. I haven't included the announced nominees who failed the vetting process, of which there are many. Add a new section for them if you want.

Trump Administration* - Fired / Quit

Name / Position / Reason For Leaving / charges

Before Taking Office

- Paul Manifort / campaign manager / illegal Russian Government connections, money laundering [indicted]
- Corey Lewandowski / campaign manager / Violence against female reporter, others [charge dropped]
- Carter Page / foreign-policy adviser / links to Russia and Putin [*1]

After Taking Office

- George Papadopoulos / foreign policy adviser / Lying about contacts with the Russian government [pleaded guilty]
- Michael T. Flynn / National Security Advisor / Lying about contacts with the Russian government [pleaded guilty]
- Michael G. Flynn / Transition team / Posting unhinged Pizzagate wingnuttery
- Reince Priebus / chief of staff / blamed for leaks
- Sean Spicer / White House Press Secretary / disagreed with the appointment of Scaramucci
- Anthony Scaramucci / White House Communications Director / "colorful language", lack of credibility
- Omarosa Manigault / Director of Communications for the Office of Public Liaison in the White House / ???
- Steve Bannon / White House Chief Strategist / white supremacist influence finally became too much
- Rob Porter / White House Staff Secretary / domestic abuse x 2
- David Sorensen / White House speechwriter / domestic abuse

Expected

Michael D. Cohen / Trump's Lawyer / Russia connections, money laundering, paying Stormy Daniels

----------

* 1) Under investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Security Agency, the Director of National Intelligence, and the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. To issue an FBI warrant, a federal judge concluded there was probable cause to believe that Page was a foreign agent knowingly engaging in clandestine intelligence for the Russian government.

Credit is also due to the Georgia GOP for installing Brenda Fitzgerald as Commissioner of the Department of Public Health from 2011–2017 despite her being a snake oil pusher.

So much "winning".
Those were the easy ones to find. I think there may be others mentioned in the Tree Hugger Thread, Wingnutties out of control!, President* Trump and possibly other threads.

Clovis is out
Because of his Russia link via Papadopoulos. Not because of his being appointed as the Agriculture Department's chief scientist, despite having no science credentials and being a climate change denier. (Though perhaps the jury is still out on whether climate is important to agriculture.)
Can we say that it's an indirect win for science if a wholly unqualified    AGW denier    is also revealed to be an America-hating traitor?
Sam Clovis, former Trump campaign official now linked to Russia probe, withdraws Agriculture nomination

... Clovis's decision comes just days after court filings indicate that he may have encouraged President Trump's campaign foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos to set up meetings with Russians for the Trump campaign.

Court document show that an unnammed campaign supervisor encouraged Papadopoulos. The Washington Post reported that the unnamed campaign supervisor was Clovis, who was Trump's national campaign co-chairman....

Maybe he'll soon be "in" . . . prison.

I knew that you would say that, but posted anyway. There is nothing wrong with calling a whore a whore, be it Melania or Hope. they both offer themselves to Donald for his money.

I do sincerely believe that men and women alike can whore themselves and do not subscribe to the outdated notion that only women can be whores and only men can be pimps, pigs ...

there is plenty of info to show that this woman is Donald's on the side.

could be that she ain't a whore and is consequentially attracted by his intellect, his good looks, his communications skills, his hole in one golf game

or she's a whore for the money

it's always easy to blame both parties and true there are big business paid whores in both parties, but one party has repeatedly tried to end or lower tax subsidies to oil companies and other profitable businesses that pay no tax for the services they demand from actual taxpayers and the other party stood arm in arm 100% against all attempts

party before country is the new republicons way, the inability to reject it, is your (Supsalemgr) way
Since then, just women are whores.

maybe screwing the boss for money is more common with women, but I'm sure there are men doing to too. I call them whores.

I'm not aware of evidence that Hicks is screwing POSPOTUS, though she did date Trump's campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, who was married to another woman. Maybe that was whoring. I'm not sure, but I think her current position outranks former White House Staff Secretary Rob Porter. If so and if they even had a boss-underling relationship, would he then be the whore?

using sex to get ahead is whoring and really should be in the me too discussion

I don't know whether it's sex or moronic loyalty and utter lack of scruples that is more important.

And that's just in the first year. It's like some kind of reality TV show where every week someone gets fired.

I think there are also a bunch in DOJ, foreign service and on science panels that won't appear in fired/quit lists because they just weren't reappointed.

The idea I had in mind was to list only Trump's team and appointees. Folks that Trump thought should be running the country.

NOT perfectly competent pre-Trump diplomats, scientists and legal experts who have done nothing wrong but simply can't work with Trump. Or fired or not reappointed by Trump because they were perfectly competent.

Makes sense. I wasn't sure since your intro. didn't specify. That will remove some of my additions above, though some of them were kept on for months and months. Otoh, one could argue that not retaining good people is nearly exactly the same crappy management that hiring failures is, worse in some ways.

CBC: Trump's lawyer confirms payment made to adult performer Stormy Daniels
Michael Cohen said in a statement to The New York Times that he was not reimbursed by the Trump Organization or the Trump campaign for the payment to Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford.
The evangelicals are saying, "This checks out. We donate $130,000 for our friends' porn-star hook-ups all the time." Watch for Jesus quotes justifying it over the next few days.
Cohen told the Times he had delivered a similar statement to the Federal Election Commission in response to a complaint filed by Common Cause, a government watchdog group.

Common Cause had asked the FEC to investigate the source of the $130,000 payment and determine whether it represented an excessive campaign contribution.
And there's the "why."

As with Carter Page and others, it's only a question of how many hours until Trump denies having ever met Cohen.

Porn star who alleged Trump affair: I can now tell my story

Stormy Daniels, the porn star whom President Donald Trump's personal attorney acknowledged paying $130,000 just before Election Day, believes she is now free to discuss her alleged sexual encounter with Trump, her manager told The Associated Press Wednesday.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, believes that Trump attorney Michael Cohen invalidated a non-disclosure agreement after two news stories were published Tuesday: One, in which Cohen told The New York Times that he made the six-figure payment with his personal funds, and another in the Daily Beast, which reported that Cohen was shopping a book proposal that would touch on Daniels' story, said the manager, Gina Rodriguez.

"Everything is off now, and Stormy is going to tell her story," Rodriguez said....

Comments:
This is BIG news folks, Trump actually paid a contractor!
So let me get this straight. Trump's attorney paid off a woman $130,000 of his own money for something that never happened according to Trump? Do even Trump supporters actually believe this?
reminder: Melania had just given birth to Baron 4 months prior to this Stormy affair. But tell me more about how Trump is going to advance conservative family values.

And more legal sense than Dolt .45's lawyer. I watched her on Kimmel, she did a brilliant job of never confirming the affair, payoff and NDA while clearly confirming the affair, payoff and NDA.

Best of all was when Kimmel compared her "signature" on last month's letter denying the affair to years of her real signatures. When it was pointed out that they didn't match, she gave perhaps the most meaningful (paraphrased) 'How about that,' that I've ever seen.

Maybe it's not so surprising. Given her career, she very well may have spent more time with competent business people and lawyers than POSPOTUS or Michael Cohen. :o :D
