1) Dolt .45 is throwing the NRA under the bus.NRA says Trump opposes gun control after 'great' meeting
US President Donald Trump Thursday met with the powerful National Rifle Association, which later said he opposed gun control -- despite Trump's remarks to the contrary a day earlier at the White House....
2) POSPOTUS lied.
3) President* Trump got bribed/extorted.
4) Putin's Agent Orange is demented/insane and has no clue what he believes from one day to the next.
Vote.

6) should be #1. It's all staged play acting by the nra and trump to prove trump is stronger than the nra to the dumbass people.
The changes he pushes will be inconsequential, surrounded by gnashing of teeth and howls of pain by the nra, then nothing more will happen.
Who knows, war might even be an excuse to arm everyone.

Re: Gun Legislation
Probably not Dolt .45, this time. It sounds like it's just a stupid NPS rule that allows "jump ropes, two bikes and two tables" to trump 500,000. Of course, Putin's Agent Orange could overrule the decision, but he's too much of a lap dog for the NRA.Massive Anti-Gun Rally Bumped From National Mall For Talent Show
... The massive anti-gun rally, spearheaded by survivors of the Feb. 14 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida, that killed 17 people, is expected to draw 500,000 marchers. It was planned for an 11-block stretch of the mall, with sound systems, 14 Jumbotrons, 2,000 chairs, 2,000 portable johns and 14 tents, according to the permit application the group filed Feb. 20. Students and other speakers, musicians and video tributes are planned for the event....
But another application, written by hand, was filed earlier for the space for the same day. That group sought permission for a “student project” related to “filming for a talent show,” according to the paperwork. The name of the school was redacted by the Park Service.
BS, it's a public document and they'll be out in public.
The event will require jump ropes, two bikes and two tables. The project “takes a day to finish. Games will be the main activity for filming,” according to the application.
National Park Service spokesman Mike Litterst said permits are granted on a first-come, first-served system, regardless of what the space is used for.
Rigid bureaucracies.
... Litterst said the Park Service typically works with organizers of displaced events to find an alternative space. He suggested West Potomac Park and Pennsylvania Avenue....
Why not work with the organizers of the talent show to find an alternative space or date?

Re: Gun Legislation
It is really frustrating how easily people (led by a complicit press) can go chasing shiny objects down a rabbit hole. Once Trump (or whoever) brought up "arming teachers," that's led the discussion. As if it were a serious, well-thought out plan ... as if it addressed the issue ... as if. If they want to change to conversation from firearms regulation to school security, why are they jumping immediately to a "last resort" solution instead of well-tested procedures that actually work. "Arming the teachers" starts by necessity with the assumption that the threat will be able to get into the school. The place to start is in keeping the threat away from the school and guard the perimeter. Didn't these people ever wonder why castles had moats and were on hilltops? Military bases are all well-armed, with various types of guards and sentries - but they also have fences and controlled entrance. Understandable that nobody wants a school to look like a prison, but architectural creativity could help. I don't know the entire answer, but I'd bet a team of security experts could come up with better solutions than the NRA and a bunch of droolers.
In any case, the answer of those interested in firearms regulations has to be, "OK fine. Do what you like in the schools. Now let's talk about keeping firearms out of the hands of dangerous people."

trump's Nazi - the gorka guy pushing right wing bs on Sinclair's local propaganda channels said, "You don't have to be a tier one operator or a classified marksman. If there's one person in the building who's simply laying down fire in the direction of the perpetrator --" Gorka said.
you can almos see them watching red dawn and cheering as Patrick Swyaze rolls out from behind cover and single handedly defeats the entire russian army.
"laying down fire in the direction of the perpetrator" in a hallway full of kids
if shit like this is their argument against gun control them maybe there needs to be a serious discussion about doing something to eleminate the destructive con gene from the pool.

'It's Fake News!': Congresswoman Who Said Most Mass Shooters Are Democrats Cuts Off InterviewVrede too wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2018 1:46 pm
Snopes: Is this List of Democrat Shooters Accurate?
A viral list of dozens of shootings purportedly committed by Democrats is based on faulty, inaccurate, and unsubstantiated claims.
The article also mentions the common screech, "*Not one *NRA member, Tea Party member, or Republican conservative was involved in any of these shootings and murders," but doesn't directly address it. Since the NRA doesn't share its membership lists, those making this claim are necessarily talking out of their asses.
She spoke stupidly and got busted by the facts.
She backtracks with another lie: “It isn’t just Republicans who commit all these terrible crimes."
We've never said it's "just Republicans". We know that it can be members of either party or quite often folks that have no politics or party.
Now, she runs away when challenged on her idiocy and dishonesty.
Yep, an ammosexual con proves to be an irresponsible coward, again.

EXCLUSIVE: FedEx’s secret deal with the NRA and the gun industry
While publicly trying to distance itself from the NRA, FedEx has made a secret agreement with the association and other major players in the firearms industry.
FedEx won’t drop the NRA so these companies are dropping FedEx
Unlike dozens of other companies, FedEx has stood firm with the National Rifle Association
Interesting, we do have options and it wouldn't take all that many boycotters to surpass the business FedEx gets from the gun industry.
How to Buy a Gun in 15 Countries
Many Americans can buy a gun in less than an hour. The process takes months in some countries. Here are the basic steps for how most people buy a gun in 15 of them. Many countries have exceptions for specialized professions, and local laws vary.

In 49 years what will society think of school administrators that punished students protesting gun violence?
Georgia students barred from graduating in 1969 finally receive high school diplomas
After 49 years, these high school graduates have finally been given the diplomas they deserved.
Dozens of Georgia students, who were barred from their graduation ceremony in 1969 for joining protests and marches in the civil rights movement, were honored over the weekend at the Pike County Auditorium outside of Atlanta....
The students, now in their 60s, were enrolled at the all-black Pike County Consolidated school in 1969 and were upset about the way desegregation was being handled in their town.
Under a state mandate, the Concord school was ordered to integrate with the all-white Pike County High School in a town over, but the district’s then-superintendent decided not to renew the contracts of any of the teachers or staff in the black school, former students told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Among those contracts were D. F. Glover's, the school’s beloved principal.
The students began a silent walkout in April 1969 and were later told, as punishment, that they would not be able to graduate because they had too many absences for participating in the ensuing demonstrations.
They went on to attend college and become entrepreneurs and community leaders, but for decades, never had a diploma to show for their high school education.
“As the result of their participation in the boycott, those twelfth-grade students from Pike County Consolidated High School who were on track for graduation were prevented from receiving their diplomas and whereas we honor all of those students, families and educators who struggled through those turbulent times, we recognize that the lens of history allows us to acknowledge that prohibiting a student to graduate under similar circumstances would not be consistent with practices in place today,” the district’s board of education said in a resolution.

Dolt .45's bump stock ban is political cover for the cowardly congressional GOP. Obama knew and POSPOTUS knows that banning bump stocks by regulation is shaky. It needs to be done by legislation, but the GOP doesn't have the balls to stand up to the NRA. By the time Dolt .45's rule is definitively trashed by the courts, the midterm elections will be over with.

Everything to know about the National School Walkout on March 14
Students, teachers, parents and administrators across the country are invited to take part in a National School Walkout this month in a call on Congress to pass tighter gun control laws.
The ENOUGH National School Walkout will be held on March 14 -- exactly one month after the mass shooting at a Florida high school that killed 17 people and sent shock waves across the nation.
The event will be at 10 a.m. across every time zone and last 17 minutes -- one minute for each of the victims gunned down in the Feb. 14 massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida....
Over 2,000 walkout events are registered for March 14.
Students from New Jersey to Indiana to California have said they will participate, as well as groups from schools as far as Ireland, Switzerland, Israel and Mexico, according to the event website....
