A Question For Bannination:
If I accidentally hit a wrong key when logging in, I'm informed I have entered the wrong Username or password. If I accidentally repeat it, I have to answer a captcha question. So here's my question to you. If a bot is a computer generated entry; how are bots joining the forums membership if they have to physically answer a captcha question? Inquiring minds want to know.

Also, if these new "members" are bots, how are they creating threads such as the fake passport threads?

The answer is image recognition, just like you can make a scan of a paper and have it turn into editable words on your computer screen they use that technology to a further extreme. That's why in some captcha's you see all kinds of wavy lines and distortions that make it a pain in the ass for a human to read, it also makes it hard for a computer to read -- except computers are now better at reading them than humans are.
That's why companies like google have newer version of captcha's which are pretty interesting and have all sort of algorithms judging if your a human as you solve their picture puzzles. It also helps google recognize what are actually street signs to feed back in to their maps. (So I've heard..)
I may experiment with turning the captcha off, I'm not sure it helps anymore, and I have other measures helping to identify spammers.
Here's the log from just today on how many were blocked using one of the measures from using the forum, and there was about 60 break in attempts at the server level today. The internet is a dangerous place.

could be, but seems a bit conflicted

Shines was run off, thus the severance in settlement of whatever his contract might have said. The other funds - bonus, stock, whatever - would have been considered earned income not subject to forfeiture other than for some gross malfeasance, that they never proved.

I read that the Carolina election fraud Congressional candidate pulled a fire alarm to avoid questions from reporters.
Aren't people arrested for setting off fire alarms in order to create distractions?
Why hasn't the Carolina congressman elect been arrested?

Aren't people arrested for setting off fire alarms in order to create distractions?Idk if that's illegal. I may have done that a time or two way back when.... Afterwards, he made a beeline out of the building as fast as he could to evade WSOC-TV Channel 9 reporter Joe Bruno’s questions. Racing through to get out the back door, Harris set off the fire alarm of an emergency exit.
Why hasn't the Carolina congressman elect been arrested?

Interesting. Texas even has a special tougher law for children than for adults.
"In the Texas Penal Code, a false alarm offense - which includes setting off a fire alarm or making a false 9-1-1 call - is a Class A misdemeanor, unless it involves a public school. Then the charge automatically becomes a state jail felony offense, punishable by 180 days to two years in jail and a fine up to $10,000."

NC law
https://codes.findlaw.com/nc/chapter-14 ... 4-286.html
"It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to wantonly and willfully give or cause to be given, or to advise, counsel, or aid and abet anyone in giving, a false alarm of fire, or to break the glass key protector, or to pull the slide, arm, or lever of any station or signal box of any fire-alarm system, except in case of fire"
It would appear that not only the congressional voter fraud guy but his aid and abetter cohorts in crime should all be arrested.

I'm not positive that door exit alarms are technically fire-alarms. If they were, you would think that the law would make it more clear. Maybe the reporter screwed up in calling it a fire-alarm. Here are some pics of door exit alarms, none of them say "fire".

I absolutely agree that "molesting fire-alarm, fire-detection or fire-extinguishing system" should be illegal, ewww.

I keep seeing headlines and lnf type freak-outs over this Smollett guy making a false police report.
I also remember a smattering of stories a week or so later about some big shot right winger doing the same.
The Smollett stories are still big news but I've heard nothing more on the rightwinger.
I can't find anything on this, does anyone remember his name?
