Don't know why it's comparable, other than just to taunt the neighbor country's President*, but Canadian papers are reporting that the crowd at the Raptor parade was "three times the size of Trump's inauguration."
A witness stated that the Canadian basketball crowd running in fear, cowardly trampled over their Canadian brothers.Image

You have any idea how many of your posts are just generic taunting? Whether it's sports, politics, religion, whatever, you post only taunts. Why don't you occasionally pick something you'd like to talk about and maybe you would get better responses and less ridicule.

GSW may or may not be okay.
Report: Warriors agree to sign-and-trade deal for D'Angelo Russell

After a star turn with the Brooklyn Nets in his fourth NBA season, D’Angelo Russell will reportedly have a contract to match in one of the most stunning moves of a wild opening day of NBA free agency.

The Warriors have reportedly agreed to a sign-and-trade deal to bring Russell to Golden State on a four-year, $117 million deal, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Wojnarowski reports that the Warriors are trading forward Andre Iguodala and draft picks to the Memphis Grizzlies in an effort to create salary cap space.

A restricted free agent, Russell became expendable when the Nets reportedly agreed to a deal with Kyrie Irving.

How Russell fits with the Warriors long-term is yet to be seen. Golden State already employs two of the best scoring guards in NBA history in Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Russell’s specialty is scoring.

Thompson will miss a significant portion of next season with the ACL tear he suffered in Game 6 of the NBA Finals, but he is certainly a part of Golden State’s long-term future after reportedly agreeing to a 5-year, $190 million deal....

Russell broke out last season for his first All-Star bid while leading the Nets to their first playoff berth since 2015....

Russell averaged 15.5 points and 5.2 assists in his first season in Brooklyn, similar to the numbers he put up in two seasons with the Lakers. But this past season saw his averages jump to 21.1 points and seven assists to go with 1.2 steals per game while he shot a career-high 36.9 percent from 3-point distance....
Very strange that the article doesn't mention that KD left GSW for the same Nets that Russell is coming from, that Irving is coming to from the Celtics, and what that did to the salary cap. We'll see, GSW has had other radical changes. With Kerr, Curry and Thompson they just keep winning.

Bryce Brown (Auburn last year) set new NBA G League record - 11 straight 3s. He had 43 total points for the night.

The dynasty is over: Golden State Warriors (12-40). Major injuries this year - Thompson out ACL, Curry gone for a few weeks with a broken hand. Gotta wonder if this is karma, both for moving to SF in Oct and for selling arena naming rights to JPMorgan Chase.

For all I know this is old news, but my son tells me that the NBA is looking and possibly negotiating a single site to finish the season. Somewhere like Disney World where they could live and play out the season or move right to playoffs.

Combined with extensive testing and not leaving the site they think this could work.

Makes a lot more sense than so many of the half measures we have in place now.

I heard something similar. At least the teams with a chance for playoffs would play. Apparently the Warriors (last place!) have apparently packed it up.

          More info, sort of:

Inside the NBA's urgent decisions as it tries to finish this season

          Summary: It's a mess.
For a time, Las Vegas was the most popular idea for a proposed resumption of the NBA season: a bubble city of teams grinding out the playoffs within a quarantine of connected casino hotels and arenas.

As time has passed, those talking with NBA commissioner Adam Silver find him still needing to be convinced Vegas is the best idea. For some of the league's most influential veteran star players, that's a reassuring notion because they're concerned about some younger teammates struggling with the patience required to properly fortify a bubble environment in Vegas.
          :D
... The possibility of Disney World in Orlando, where there are basketball facilities and hotels, has gained momentum.

Amid the pandemic, sources say, fan-less games could rely on robotic cameras with closer, innovative angles of the action. Television play-by-play and game analysts could call the games from remote locations. Discussions have included teams keeping essential personnel in the range of 30 to 35 -- including players -- on site....

In a country that is becoming increasingly sports/entertainment starved, this could be a boon for the NBA if they can figure this out.
