Ex President* Trump

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Too funny.

IIRC, the goats are on the property so he can claim an agricultural tax exemption.

Trump Flips Out In Hellishly Bizarre New Social Media Meltdown: 'I Wasn't Scared'
The former president launched a strange new series of attacks on his Truth Social website.

Donald Trump seems to have hell on his mind.

The former president invoked the perpetual flames of the underworld in two separate rants on Sunday against Representative Nancy Pelosi (Democrat, California) and the US women’s national soccer team.

Early in the day, he launched his attack on the former House speaker, who on Friday said Trump looked like a “scared puppy” during his arraignment last week on federal charges of election obstruction and conspiracy....

Trump’s critics raised hell in return:

The US Women's Team is woke now, but they weren't in 2019 when they won the World Cup with a roster that was mostly the same and led by the woman he singled out. They were unwoke, that's why they won. Tragic.
Republicans against Trump

Donald Trump says that “Sick and demented psycho” Nancy Pelosi will someday “live in HELL”.

He’s always projecting. Always.
Megan Rapinoe and her teammates won TWO STRAIGHT world cups for their country. You INCITED AN INSURRECTION and brought great shame and dishonor on yours. They have more patriotism in their pinkies than you’ve got in your entire racist, bigoted, and traitorous ass.
Alyssa Farah Griffin
(Republican)

Yo, GOP - we just going to keep pretending this is normal & okay? I wouldn’t let my family near the kind of lunatic that rants like this on the internet.
it's an unusually clear statement of how trump just revels in US failure and in imagining US destruction. presidents usually try to project optimism and hope. Trump thrives on the opposite—visions of american decline and apocalypse.
you’d think a guy who was president for 4 years would know Sweden basically tips over the woke-o-meter but maybe that was the week he was trying to buy Greenland or some shit
 Touche'.

'Coward' Trump Mocked After 2 Backpedaling Announcements In A Row
Critics blast the former president for another broken promise.

... First, the former president canceled his big news conference on Monday, when he had promised to deliver “irrefutable” evidence of 2020 presidential election fraud in a “CONCLUSIVE” report that would lead to “a complete EXONERATION.”

Trump and his allies have failed to produce any such evidence in the nearly three years since the 2020 election despite constantly claiming to have it....

And second, he fired off a message indicating he won’t participate in next week’s Republican presidential debate....

Trump is flailing desperately. Promising events and proof of innocence then scurrying away without delivering anything. Having lawyers make ludicrous and insupportable demands to courts. Inciting more violence. Peddling more lies. He's a cornered rat.
Andrew Weissmann (weissmann11 on Threads)🌻
(@NYULAW @MSNBC ... Author, NYT bestseller "Where Law Ends" 20 years at DOJ ...)

Trump called off his presser to present his "irrefutable" proof of election fraud: shocker? NOT.
The only shock is he listened to his lawyers this time-Import is that the criminal cases are in fact scaring him.
Mark Hamill

Does this mean we won't be getting that "Large, Complex, Detailed But Irrefutable REPORT"? I was really looking forward to that, especially since it would have been so darn irrefutable!
Chicken shit
You know how Trump announced he would release "A Large, Complex, Detailed but Irrefutable REPORT on the Presidential Election Fraud which took place in Georgia" at a press conference on Monday?

Turns out his lawyers don't want him to keep lying about 2020.
BREAKING: Donald Trump calls his own bluff and CANCELS his press conference where he would show "evidence"!!!

Is he a fraud, or a coward? 🤣🤣🤣
They're not mutually exclusive. More scathing and hilarious tweets at the link.

Cowardice #3:
Trump Requests April Start Date For Federal Jan. 6 Trial … April 2026
“Even assuming we could begin reviewing the documents today, we would need to proceed at a pace of 99,762 pages per day," his attorneys wrote in a filing.

At present, he could go to trial on Jan. 2 for the federal case alleging a scheme to overturn the election, March 4 for the Georgia election interference case, March 25 for the hush money trial in New York City and May 20 for the case in Florida over the mishandling of classified documents.

If I were Trump's lawyer (god forbid and my eyes are burning from what I just wrote), I think I'd stipulate to most of the stuff he's done for which there is clear evidence, and argue over his intent or understanding. It's probably a losing approach, but it would go a lot further to argue that he's truly an idiot rather than to try to say ridiculous stuff like "he broke no laws..."

If you're (God forbid) trump's lawyer do you really think you'd have free will to make your own argument?

That has not been the past (losing) pattern at least.

Well of course not. But if I can suspend reality enough to write "if I were Trump's lawyer" then I can imagine I'd actually be running the strategy. Trump has spent so much of his life acting like courts were some theme park where he could file civil lawsuits willy-nilly and use them to either intimidate others or spend them into submission. He has no idea that criminal courts don't work that way, or that there's a big difference in being "defendant" in a criminal case vs. "plaintiff" in a civil action.

Ah. Fingers crossed.

Coincidence - Just watched a Midsomer Murders where a mother may have confessed to a murder her daughter committed. She asks DCI Barnaby whether he would do that for his daughter and he agrees that he would. Clearly, neither have any P01135809 blood in them.

Another coincidence - Weekend at Bernie's is on. :D
