The Food Thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Pie are round, cornbread are square.
I think squared off pizzas also violate some old testament Jewish laws found in Deuteronomy.

Also Revelations. It's one of the signs of the coming apocalypse. Accompanied by Fanta.

I did not know that (not that I would actually drink that crap).

The orange-colored drink originated in Nazi Germany under trade embargo for Coca-Cola ingredients in 1940. To keep the plant in operation the Germans developed a fruit flavored drink made from apple fiber left over from cider pressings, and whey, a by-product of cheese making.

It should be the official drink of the Trump campaign.

Do you think if you drink enough if that stuff it turns your skin orange and gives you dictatorial aspirations?

If so, then we'd have to accept that it also leads to your being surrounded by supermodels.

Imagine what the Cola Wars advertising would have been like if Trump was the CEO of The Coca-Cola Company (which owns Fanta.)

Unclean? Leavened bread? -0-?

I've not seen Fanta soft drinks in quite a while. Their grape and orange drinks were quite delicious.
Nehi grape and orange drinks were equally quite tasty.
I can't see combining either of these with a pizza though; give me an ice cold beer or Pepsi.
As far as pizza goes, I'm not too terribly picky about who makes what. I just love pizza. <slurp!>

If you have the coin the supermodels will follow, Orange stuff or not. Heck, you can trade up every few years.

Nah.

I think the devil tried to lure Jesus out of his fishing boat with a squared off pizza while he was smoking bud all day with no munchies on hand.

Not to mention Omertà. I wouldn't risk it.

What do you healthy folk eat?

Here's a recipe that I dub JTA chow:

- chicken cutlets
- diced onions
- fresh diced garlic
- shrooms
- green beans
- lots of kale

Sautee all of this together with a bit if olive oil, add whatever seasoning you want. I usually use a bit of Bragg's amino acid, lemon pepper or some random seasonings in my cabinet. Cover and cook.

Eat.

Its healthy, I think. And it tastes alright. I eat this about three times a week.

Alternatively I cook the same concoction but use taco seasoning, no green beans no kale. Not the kind of taco seasoning you buy in the packets, but a little plastic spice can of it which is just a mixture of various spices pre mixed. Then I chunk all that stuff in a wrap, add an avocado, add some cheese, and make some dillas out of it.

Cons, Republicans and Trumpettes, yum.

Plus, most anything from the natural foods co-op, saves me from having to think too hard about it.

The JTA Chow recipe sounds delicious.

I'm pretty consistent (boring) with breakfast and lunch. Breakfast is a banana and oatmeal with protein powder. Coffee of course. Lunch is one or more of yogurt, couple of eggs, egg salad (made with avocado no mayo), peanut butter, sometimes salad, sometimes a piece of chicken or fish, some kind of fruit.

Lady O is a very good creative cook and dinners are always varied but healthy. We eat a lot of fish, chicken, not a lot of beef, veggies as fresh as we can get them.

BTW, what's good with that kale you like is the guac they make fresh at Ingle's. I just dump it on top of the kale and mix it. Maybe throw on a tomato or something, but mainly kale. Very good.
