Beer Thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Well, to get back to the topic, try as I might, I can't seem to sample every one of the really good beers now being crafted. I've got some favorites, and I always try seasonals from local breweries (local also including places not around here). I like dark, amber, stout - not IPAs so much. Some of my favorites are, in addition to the 1554, MacTarnahan's Amber Ale, from Portland Brewing, Black Mocha Stout, from Highlands, Kilt Lifter, from Pike Brewing, Moose Drool, from Big Sky, and most any seasonal from Sam.

If anyone has suggestions or wants to share favorites, here is the place.

O Really, I tried a new beer the other day, thought you might like it. It's called Bud Light PLATINUM, the classy bud light for classy beer drinkers.

Everclear! . . . It'll snatch your ass off and hand it to you!

"Everclear is a brand name of rectified spirit sold by American company Luxco. Luxco Brand is made from corn,
and it is bottled at 151-proof (75.5% ABV) and 190-proof (95% ABV). Sale of the 190-proof is prohibited in many U.S. states"

White lightnin' is Kool-Aid compared to Everclear.

Everclear will mess you up bad.

What about Rum and Coke. What vibes does that exude upon others?

Rum and Coke is a desecration to them both.
But to address your question, I'd say the manlinest drink would be the dog's nose/boilermaker.
"Classy" is somewhat in the eye of who you're with. Sometimes it might be whatever your lady is having. On you own, however, I'd think single malt scotch (preferably by brand) would be a classy order.

Give me a list of three drinks that would be considered classy.

1) Single Malt Scotch
2) Rum and Coke
3) Bud Light

Speaking of beers, when are we going to have a couple of bud lights up in H'ville next time I go hiking at Looking Glass?

The caffeine helps keep you awake so you can drink more of them.

So, maybe it and Irish Coffee are the most practical drinks.

Cigars used to represent manliness. The men went off to smoke cigars while the women cleaned up. Men became connoisseurs of cigars, as if they were wine or beer. Cuban or cuban style cigars were desirable because they were good and maybe illegal. All to set the men apart from the women, who generally couldn't join the cigar club - and wouldn't anyway because of the foul smelling men and their cigars.

So IMNVHO, cigars are not classy. No more so than cigarettes - that used to be portrayed as classy.

A nicely rolled joint of Maui Waui , on the other hand...

Cigars smell like burning hair. Nothing classy there.

If I' meant coffee, I'd have spelled it correctly - Maui Wowi. But really, I didn't know there was a coffee.

Good quality cigars don't stink. But the smokers do.

So - JTA
Why all the "classy" questions? Seems to me you're a pretty classy guy yourself that doesn't need any help. Yanking our chains, maybe?

maybe there is someone on this forum who hasn't already heard this - if so, then I've enlightened them
if not, then you are welcome to throw things at me

An old German saying often attributed to Ben
Franklin: In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water
there is bacteria.

In a
number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if
we drink 1 liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would have
absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. coli) - bacteria found
in feces. In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of
poop.

However,
we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum,
whiskey or other liquors) because alcohol has to go through a purification
process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.

Remember:
Water = Poop, Wine = Health

Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water
and be full of shit.

There is
no need to thank me for this valuable information: I'm doing it as a public
service.
