Super Bowl Ads

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

I bet if Warhol was still around, he'd do a painting of Trump.

Donald Trump Super Bowl LIV Ad
Would be okay, except we all know the reality:
Is Trump a racist?

I'm pretty sure that this did not air during the game, but it's a brilliant response to 45SHOLE's ad:
Trump's Real Super Bowl Ad | Mike Bloomberg for President

I liked his own ad:
George | Mike Bloomberg for President
 FU ammosexuals.

Otherwise, I did not think the 1st half ads were interesting at all, was resigned to a lame year. However, I enjoyed a bunch in the 2nd half:

First off, another political one:

The 2020 NFL Super Bowl Commercial That’s Bigger Than Football
Wow, an anti-cop, pro-black activist NFL ad. :-||
Colin Kaepernick scores a TD.
Shooting of Corey Jones

... (Plainclothes Pakistani-American police officer) Raja was charged with manslaughter by culpable negligence and attempted first-degree murder with a firearm. He was convicted of the charges on March 7, 2019, following an eight-day jury trial. Raja was sentenced to 25 years in prison on April 25, 2019.
In no particular order:

Amazon Super Bowl Commercial 2020 - #BeforeAlexa
Elaborate, funny and creative.

Audi Presents: Let It Go
Maisie Williams. Audi e-tron Sportback.

Budweiser | Typical American | 2020 Super Bowl Commercial

Microsoft Super Bowl 2020 Commercial: Be The One / Katie Sowers

Doritos® | The Cool Ranch feat. Lil Nas X and Sam Elliott

Reese’s Take 5 | ‘Rock’ Extended Version 2020
:D I had never heard of it  .

...
Twitter Rips Trump Over Super Bowl Ad Featuring Alice Marie Johnson

... While Trump did commute Johnson’s sentence, he is not anything close to a symbol of progressive criminal justice reform. Trump famously called for the death penalty for five teenage boys, once known as the Central Park 5, who were wrongly convicted in a vicious attack on a woman. The president is also behind the detention centers that are currently holding migrant children in unsanitary and inhumane conditions. Trump has also promoted police brutality and attacked activist and former San Francisco 49ers player Colin Kaepernick for protesting police brutality.

Twitter users quickly reacted to the first Trump ad, criticizing the president both for using Johnson’s case to politically boost himself and for labeling himself a champion of criminal justice reform when his record proves otherwise.
Now we know why Donald Trump got Alice Johnson out of prison: so he could run a Super Bowl commercial about it and pander to Black people leading up to his re-election.

 Three former Clemson student-athletes — cornerback Bashaud Breeland, linebacker Dorian O’Daniel and wide receiver Sammy Watkins — all earned their first Super Bowl championship on Sunday as their Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers, 31-20, in Super Bowl LIV in Miami Gardens, Fla.

With the addition of those three, Clemson has now produced 30 different Super Bowl champions totaling a combined 38 Super Bowl rings.

O’Daniel became a Super Bowl champion after previously being a member of Clemson’s 2016 national championship squad. He joined William Perry, Terry Kinard, Andy Headen, Dan Benish, K.C. Dunn and Ty Davis as one of seven players in school history to win a collegiate national championship and a Super Bowl title.

Surprising that more ads didn't have Groundhog Day - the day, not the film - themes. Kind of an obvious idea once noting that the game was on 2/2.

Not just 2/2, but 02/02/2020 a date sequence not seen for 900 years.

Cool, I didn't notice that.

:?: 02/02/1120.

We do have 02/02/20 every hundred years.

Ah, do you mean 01/01/1010, just over 1010 years ago?

I was there; that's what they meant....01/01/1010. Everybody laughed about how folks would take note of it in the future. Then it got dark.

The oddity is in it's being a palindrome; same forwards and backwards; the last being 01/01/1010.

I happened to notice this thread was started by the villainous Mr.B.
My curiosity took me back to the beginning to read some of the original posts and many of them were right entertaining.
Curious though, anyone know what ever became of Bungalow Bill, k9nanny, rstrong, and JTA? They used to crack me up.
(I tagged you two so you would be notified I was talking to you.)

JTA is somebody else and still here.
rstrong is, I believe, unfortunately deceased Most likely, but our evidence is his sudden absence from here and a tech forum. We have no confirmation of his passing, though I did some searching.
As far as I know, K9 is still around but rarely posts I think she got bored, nothing bad happened that I know of.
dunno about Bungalow Bill He really liked to mix it up. I'm guessing that Mr.B and you, Leo, etc. weren't enough challenge for him.
