That vid was incredible. I first saw the plate-flipping on Ninja Warriors a few years ago. That one was flipping with one hand at a time. I can do it, actually, but not very many and not nearly as smooth, and absolutely definitely not while standing on a ball or tilt board. In case you didn't notice, that was a 45-pound plate she was flipping. Also, later in the article when she was doing the leg lift while holding up the barbell - that was at least 135 pounds - probably a little more than she weighs.

Not that I like or respect him in ANY other way, but I appreciate his persistence. It must be somewhat difficult to stay focused and in playing shape after being so reviled and after so many failures. Of course, even AAF rewards are large and he perhaps accurately thinks that there's nothing else he'd be even semi-competent at.

The concussion was just a fluke ending to what was certainly a rejection. Intercepted his pass, then clobbered him on the return. To me, however, true persistence wouldn't just be keeping on trying to make a football team. It would be getting his act straight, work hard on his fundamentals and his play, stay out of clubs, be faithful to his wife, yada.
