Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

"Nevertheless, she persisted." Mitch McConnell just gave Elizabeth Warren the title of her autobiography, if not a line of T-shirts.
"Nevertheless, she persisted" may be my first tattoo.

Free pizza!

"If they'd say, 'I'm not able to pay (my bill) today,' then we would say something like, 'Well, if you can't pay $10 today, how are you going to take care of a baby? Have you priced diapers? Do you know how much it costs to buy a car seat? Where would you go for help? There's no place in (whatever town they were in)....where you can get help as a pregnant mom. So really, don't you think your smartest choice is termination?'

South Dakota lawmaker blocks workplace protection for pregnant workers: "It's not prison. You can quit."

A group of eight male GOP reps killed a bill that would have guaranteed workplace accommodations to pregnant South Dakotans.

Their more inbred and stupid followers will continue to blame abortion on Democrats and lib'ruls.

You're always harping about not researching articles, did you research this? The ONLY places I found this article was in ThinkProgress;
followed by blogs and links from other "Facebook-type" "news" sources...nothing in any South Dakota newspapers, reputable newsfeeds, or national news outlets.

Google the "news" title; you'll find more from ThinkProgress's inbred and stupid followers ... and lib'ruls.

A quick Google news search shows another news source, which in turn links to the bill on file at South Dakota legislature.

KSFY (ABC) doesn't have the exact quote, but gives the story of the bill and South Dakota's failure to pass it.
House Bill 1120, the measure that would have provided some employment protections for expecting mothers, failed to pass a house committee Monday.

But House Bill 1101 and Senate Bill 102, measures that further restrict abortions, have already made it passed the committee level with strong support.

“It’s absolutely hypocritical and a case of misplaced priorities when they are going to insist that women need to carry out all of their pregnancies but yet at the same time provide no protection for these mothers,” Spawn said.

You're seriously calling Rewire a news source? Rewire is nothing but a liberal Facebook-type fake and screeching "news" site; as evidenced by the drop-downs "Donald Trump lies ..... blah, blah, blah ---- Donate Now!"
Rewire is the same junk that posts fake "conservative" and "Christian" news on Facebook as well.

"which in turn links to the bill on file at South Dakota legislature.
At least that's legitimate.

"KSFY (ABC) doesn't have the exact quote..."
Wonder why?

"....but gives the story of the bill and South Dakota's failure to pass it.".
So...where is the mention of "Eight male GOP reps? "

Thanks for the support; I laughed at his "quick Google search" myself... especially since his "search" produced only moon-bat web-sites.

That being said, perhaps you overlooked this:
"The ONLY places I found this article was in ThinkProgress;

Openly liberal and pro-reproductive rights, but nothing seems disreputable about it.
A South Dakota Republican this week offered an unusual solution for workers denied on-the-job pregnancy accommodations: quit.

Rep. Wayne H. Steinhauer (R-Minnehaha) was on a panel of state lawmakers, all men, who voted 8 to 3 Monday to shelve a bill requiring reasonable workplace accommodations during and after pregnancy, including frequent or longer breaks, modified work schedules, and private non-bathroom space for breastfeeding.

“It’s not prison. You can quit,” Steinhauer, a business owner, said during a Monday hearing of the House Commerce and Energy Committee on the bill, HB 1120....
Easy to check the transcript and vote, very unlikely to be something to lie about. Not everyone is as routinely foolishly dishonest as projecting Mr.B.

which in turn links to the bill on file at South Dakota legislature.

There's also House Bill 1120's Action list:
02/06/2017: Commerce and Energy, Deferred to the 41st legislative day, Passed, YEAS 8, NAYS 3. H.J. 304
Odds are 99+% that the 8 Yeas are all male.

KSFY (ABC) doesn't have the exact quote, but gives the story of the bill and South Dakota's failure to pass it.

Sioux Falls, South Dakota, seems "reputable" to me.

OK, let's call the quote unconfirmed. It only has two sources so far.

The STORY however, is easily confirmed. Confirmed by both ABC and the state legislature's records. My comment stands:
A group of eight male GOP reps killed a bill that would have guaranteed workplace accommodations to pregnant South Dakotans.

Their more inbred and stupid followers will continue to blame abortion on Democrats and lib'ruls.
Mr.B's recent posts raise an interesting theory about Republicans:

Saint Reagan promised to end abortion. But once elected he turned his back the abortion crowd. Bush II promised to end abortion. But even with a couple years with full control of the Presidency AND House AND Senate - the Democrats couldn't have stopped him - he and the Republican Party as a whole..... forgot?

But abortion rates have been steadily dropping for 40 years. And probably longer; Contemporary estimates of mid-19th century abortion rates in the United States suggest between 20–25% of all pregnancies in the United States during that era ended in abortion.

That drop isn't thanks to Republicans. It's thanks to women being treated as fellow humans and being allowed to make their own decisions. And people ignoring the church bans on birth control.

Which brings us to Mr.B's reasoning:
Mr.B wrote:
billy.pilgrim wrote:"do you know why republicans voted to prevent Medicare from negotiating with drug companies"
$$$$$$ ... in their pockets and the pockets of the drug companies.
That's what I meant by they're in no hurry to find cures for diseases .... too much money and too many jobs will be lost.
Republicans are milking the abortion issue for votes and donations. But abortion rates are dropping. What better way to keep the rates up than to ensure that pregnancy leads to job loss and homelessness.

One actually. The source for the ThinkProgress article is Rewire.
Instead of offering protections against discrimination, unsafe conditions, and getting fired, one of the men had a different solution for pregnant employees. “It’s not prison. You can quit,” Republican state Rep. Wayne H. Steinhauer, who voted against the bill, said during a hearing, according to Rewire.
Doesn't matter, we've all heard the abusive sentiment expressed re other worker issues. Even in the very unlikely invent that the quote is inaccurate - hilarious that Mr.B raises the possibility since he's the only poster here that childishly alters quotes - as you say the core issue is not what was said but rather what these 8 men did - promoting abortion as an obvious consequence of their seeking to -

... ensure that pregnancy leads to job loss and homelessness.
For the past 2 1/2 years my department has had at least 1 and up to 3 women pumping. It's not that hard to accommodate and any misogynist pol that puts the imaginary interests of "business" above that of pregnant women and new mothers is a creep.

Republicans once branded themselves as being the pro-family party.

But here we are in the age of Trump. Republicans blocking any attempt to ensure that women can't be fired or made homeless merely for being mothers. And dismissing anyone who criticizes this to be "liberal" or "moonbat."

I wasn't debunking the content of your post, rather your source of information where you cited "news sources" and supposed quotes. The phrase "It's not prison. You can quit" occurs no where else but your linked "news source" that I identified as b.s. Also "A group of eight male GOP reps killed a bill" is not true, the bill is still being considered. Then you followed up with your own branded b.s. "Their more inbred and stupid followers will continue to blame abortion on Democrats and lib'ruls"

There are fake "news" sites on both sides of the political fence that spew their b.s. to gullible readers, who in turn spread it around.
Welcome to that elite club of moonbats; a moonbat being one who believes every word spoken or printed by conspiracy nuts and hate-mongers.

The petition to Senate Democrats reads:

"Stand your ground and form a firm line of defense against Trump’s anti-woman regime. Block and resist all extreme right-wing legislative attempts to restrict access to reproductive health care, including abortion.”

Forcing underage girls to marry adult men in the 3rd World is disgusting . . . Oh wait:

Why does the United States still let 12-year-old girls get married?

CBC: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau marked International Women's Day by promising $650 million for reproductive health and rights around the world
The money, which will be invested over a three-year period, will support projects that provide sex education, strengthen reproductive health services, and support family planning and contraceptives. It will also fund programs to prevent and respond to sexual and gender-based violence, including forced marriage and female genital mutilation, and supporting the right of women to get safe and legal abortions.

The figure represents a doubling of current funding, Trudeau said in Ottawa this morning.

Canada is also supporting initiatives that will accelerate the use of contraceptives by 2020.
