President* Trump

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

So yesterday Lady O and I went backcountry in Canyonlands and also hit some of the more populated spots. In the last few days, we've met people from Amsterdam, Toronto, and Hamburg. Lady O usually will say something like "we're really sorry about Trump, and did not vote for him." In all three cases, the people from three different (very different) countries used the term, "Trump isn't America." The Germans, one of whom had grown up on the East side, godwined themselves, though, in saying that they hope Americans remember "Hitler could have been prevented..."

I considered that, but it may not just a matter of polite. You can make an argument that if Trump wasn't America, he wouldn't have been elected, but you can also make an argument that the majority of Americans really don't support him, or at least the more extreme parts of him. Most large countries, including the US are too big, too varied, and too complex to be quantified in small boxes.

Go ahead and enjoy the show, I reported you to the FBI back in June.

I've also petitioned to have Nickelback fans declared a gang.

Oh, yes. I'd have me a pool boy and a personal trainer. Then I'd find me some starving artists to patronize.
Take the money and run, baby.

Oh, gag. I take that back. Just being in the same room with that repulsive POS would send my gag reflex into overdrive.

As I've said before:

By marrying Donald Trump, Melania Trump has embodied the plight of immigrants who take on the difficult jobs that Americans just aren't willing to do.

It seemed like a good answer at the time, but this sure turned out to be a Hillary campaign flub:

Donald Trump, at his rally in Alabama, called those who take a knee during the national anthem "Son's of bitches".

Like the white supremacists "protesting" the removal of Confederate statures, I'd like to see if this will have the opposite effect and instead cause more NFL players to take a knee.

Incoming screams of "They're disrespecting our flag, our military, and our veterans", because people prefer empty symbolism over actual action.

My thoughts: want to show respect for our country and or veterans? Volunteer your time or money helping our fellow countrymen and vets. Mail some care packages off to our soldiers overseas. Vote for things that will help others and lift them up.

Or you can slap a yellow ribbon sticker on your car saying you support the troops, or demand others fall in line and stand for the national anthem. These are all empty gestures.

But then, so is sending a care package to the highest paid military in the world.
They could share it at the green zone Baskin Robbins.
Trump: “We had the safest border in the history of our country - or at least recorded history. I guess maybe a thousand years ago it was even better.”
