It was a lot easier to take when ND lost the Cheetos Bowl or
another one of those penny ante ones. Then no one knew.

In retrospect, Lefty, such sentiments appear to be valid. Not appear, they were valid!

Still, ND was undefeated and beat many top 10 teams to get there.
ND beat 2 top 10 teams, UF was 4 and 1 against top ten teams and they didn't deserve to be in the big game!
Though, as I mentioned, "such sentiments appear to be valid," ND earned the chance to get their butts kicked.

I wish it had turned out differently.

Not much, unless Mich St. beats the Luckeyes. I believe the UA/SEC-weary voters will keep the OSU pretenders at #2, against any deserving one-loss SEC team. Of course, FSU will shred OSU; they have no more business at the NCG than ND did last year.

Ordinarily, I tend to like Florida State and not to like Duke. Nothing against them particularly, except for the four years spent in my youth yelling "Beat Dook" at every game. Today, however, it would be fun to see the Dookies win one. The program there has been so awful for so long I'd like to see them not turn into a pumpkin quite yet. I think the last time they had a decent team was when Spurrier was there?

So much for a night of rooting for Dook. Now we know what their fans have felt like for years. But the Buckeyes are going down, looks like, so there will still be a mess in BCS.
