Whining is whining, but there has to be something at least slightly real about the disregard Auburn gets from the media.

#9 beats #6
#9 moves to#8
and #6 stays at #6
And then there's already whining from blue field Chris Petersen ultimate whine machine.

"It is not fair to judge Washington"
"In a universe based on fairness and justice, we’d note how ridiculous it is that the perception of Washington’s football program is largely going to be based on the outcome of a so-called neutral site game that took place three time zones from its campus against another top-10 team who had 90% of the fans at Mercedes-Benz Stadium."
Well, of course they shouldn't be expected to win a road game.
"Actually, though, we don’t know if Auburn is a great team or will become one."
Fair enough, if the context weren't how great Washington is.
"But even then, Auburn would have the opportunity to turn the narrative just as it did last season after an ugly loss to Clemson. That’s the beauty of playing in the SEC."
The beauty? The opportunity to turn a narrative?
We beat #1 in the country in each of our last 2 regular season games.
And "ugly loss" in our first game. Didn't this guy just claim that considering the first game isn't fair? Didn't he go on and on about the outcome could have been a coin toss as the game was so close? The Clemson loss was also a one score loss and a game full of missed opportunities, but I don't remember any articles lamenting our drop in the polls after getting beat by #1.
"And they almost did, holding a 16-15 lead until Auburn scored on a 76-yard drive with 6:15 left."
Wow - did they hold the lead for 54 minutes, or was it less than 8 minutes of the whole game? I'll go with the less than 8. Auburn lead for 49 minutes and also lead at the end of the game.
"Only a fool would write off a team as good as the Huskies based on what happened Saturday. But in the narrative-driven world of college football where image matters and rankings rule all, there tend to be a lot of fools."
Reckon I'm a fool, but a team that doesn't play a tough schedule and doesn't play a tough schedule, doesn't get my respect until they do something.
That said in my best whining voice, let me add that the chief Washington apoligizer first posted this a couple of hours after the game - so it looks like he knew all along that Washington wasn't going to beat Auburn.
Trump: “We had the safest border in the history of our country - or at least recorded history. I guess maybe a thousand years ago it was even better.”
