Here's an idea. Just change the official name to "Skins" and let everyone use their own imagination as to what color, if any, the Skins are. Or maybe it's just a reference to the need for "everyone to have some skin in the game." Or maybe, given their winning proficiency, representing the only thing left after they've been scalped by their opponents. Or a reference to a drum set. Or pork skins. Intentional obsfucation - offensive or benign according to personal interpretation. The we could sing "Hail to the Blank Skins..."

Only baseball teams name themselves after clothing items. Unless you count the Blue Hose.

The Dallas uniforms haven't been modified, but some of
the women likely have.

There's good reason why they are the "Red" Skins. It's from constant embarrassment from games like the one tonight.
Blushing Skins 27, Inept Vikes 34.

OK, it's not NFL football, but it ties in with the mascot discussion.
http://news.msn.com/us/california-high- ... rab-mascot

"A California high school's decades-old use of an Arab mascot to promote its sports teams has drawn the ire of an Arab-American rights group that says the mascot is an offensive caricature, portraying Arabs with a large nose, beard and head-covering."

Yeah, wouldn't want the mascot to look like this one, right!....

To Hell with the Redskins
To Hell with them all,
They're not braves on the warpath,
They're dog shit on the Mall.

To Hell with the Redskins
Stick a fork in RG3
They're just ball marks in the cart path
A fright for old DC.

Shit, there are no teams left to root for, except for the 49ers. Every other team
is on my s list or is a neutral. Guess I'll go for the neutrals. I meant to watch
the end of the Philly-Dallas game and then forgot all about it. I can never decide
whether it's better that the Boys don't make it at all or if it's better to see them
get beat in the playoffs. Either way is good.

I can't stand the Pats, and I've never liked the Broncos either. If SF doesn't
come through, maybe I'll go with KC. That's like a trip in the wayback machine
to the early days of the Super Bowl. Been a while. Plus pro football on Saturday
and Sunday. :)

Cowboys Unite Country.

KC--ahead by four touchdowns at the start of the third quarter
and they can't win the game. Pathetic. I turned it off halfway
through the fourth quarter.

49ers win. I thought they might have trouble with the cold weather,
but they didn't and they managed to keep Rodgers pretty well boxed
in. Good game. Next week at Carolina.

Cincinnati is one of those teams that make the playoffs
every once in a while, but never seem to go any further.

I'll stick with the 49ers as far as they go. If they don't go
all the way, I'll have to go with Plan B. Just not sure what
it will be.

49ers do it again. That late game interception made up for that
ridiculous roughing the passer call on SF. On to Seattle.

If it comes down to Pats vs. Broncos, have to go with the Broncos,
though it's a bit of that the better of two evils situation.

Broncos up 17-0 end of third quarter. Not looking good for the Bolts.
Omaha, Omaha.

I guess maybe the Chargers should have taken a chance with a
second offside kick instead of hoping the Broncos would go three
and out. Oh well, wait till next year.

I'm really not the betting type, so I'll leave that wager for someone
else. Still going with SF all the way, though it won't be easy. I like
the Seahawks, except for the fact I've never been a fan of Pete
Carroll, despite his obvious coaching talent. If it winds up Seahawks
vs. Broncos, that will be a wash.

Maybe he's auditioning to be the spokesman for Omaha Steaks.

There are still a few days left, so maybe someone will
come forward and put their money on the line.

I thought the Broncos-Pats game would be closer, but Denver
handled things pretty well. I almost felt sorry for ole Tom, sitting
on the sidelines looking look he was at a funeral. Almost. When
Fox gave Belichick that hug it looked like Bill wanted to get out of
there fast.

What a depressing way to end a game. Too many interceptions.
They usually bite you in the ass. Oh well. Guess I'll go with the
Broncos, though not with any enthusiasm.

An NFL ripoff that is even worse than having the taxpayers
pay for a large part of building a new stadium that most will
never go to.

Of course my favorite part of the video was the team with
the most Super Bowl wins--Pittsburgh. I suppose that's a
little silver lining to having the 49ers lose. They would have
tied the Steelers if they had won this Super Bowl. I think
there's at least one other team with five wins out there.
Safe till 2015.

Yeah, I should have figured out it was the Cowboys.

Should be renamed the 'Superior Bowl'. I wasn't necessarily pulling for either team, but I was expecting to see a good game.....opps!
Seems the #1 defense and the #1 offense traded roles!

Well...that's the Super Bowl for 'ya....despite all the hype and big money, it can still be a lousy football game.

Imagine all the pee'od people who dropped $1,000+ bucks to attend the game....hee, hee.....best seat in the house was in front of my 65" TV.....
and you know what? I could turn it off!
