Well that turned out to be a big mistake, especially as Flacco had already made
some big plays. I still would have had a pass play on that 3rd and 7 play. Well,
he'll just have to wait till next year. Peyton didn't exactly have one of his better
games either.

49ers-Packers looks like it might be another shootout like the Ravens-Broncos game.

The CBS score box is sure a lot easier to read than Fox's, at least on an average
sized TV.

Yeah, he's already in the end zone. I thought this one would be a lot closer. SF was the
last team left that I was enthusiastic about, so I hope they'll go all the way. We'll see.

Great second half. If Carroll hadn't tried to ice the kicker with a timeout, Seattle
would have won. Then it looks like he's complaining about something just after
the first kick. Whatever. Go 49ers.

Yep, the Patriots just never got it going in the second half. I'm going all the way with
San Francisco. I'm already tired of listening to Lewis run his mouth. Just imagine how
bad it will be if the Ravens win the Super Bowl. Yikes.

Now there's a cheerful thought. I know he's a great player and I understand
why he's emotional about this, but a little bit of Ray goes a long way.

Kind of hard to tell. As one of the commentators mentioned, Brady really could
have hurt himself if Reed had come charging into his leg. It's a bit like the angle
that RG3 had when he was hurt, though I don't think his looked as purposeful.

Big whoop. At least three players in the NFL (2 necks, 1 cardiac arrest) and one in the AFL (neck) have been killed in-game. Pick a sport - somebody has probably been killed in it.

That is a major problem. Maybe they should wear less pads instead of more.

In a 1999 study by Massey University in New Zealand, there were 9.5 concussions per 1000 high school rugby players.

In a 2003 study by Yale University, they found that there was an incidence rate of 53.9 per 1000 high school football players and another study found it was as high as 76.0 per 1000 - either way, it's a lot.

I'm picking SF to win the Super Bowl (and, probably, more head injuries as a result of the game being played).

After all, Green Bay lost to the Giants last year in the playoffs (the Giants beat NE last year in the Super Bowl). Green Bay won it the year prior.

So, I figure, if I can say, once again; "Hey! We got beat by the Super Bowl Champ!" ... I suppose, then, I can find a bit of solace in that horrible loss to SF. :eh:

Apparently there are a lot of pre-game head injuries due to the head-banging in despair over the alleged wing "shortage." I'm thinking the wing people took a lesson from the gun/ammo people and said "there's a shortage" so that they had a run on product and - guess what - there's a "shortage." The may even have said "Obama's gonna take away your wings!"

I don't have a strong opinion, but I'll root for the Ravens. Mostly because I enjoy seeing the guys now wearing the horseshoe on their helmets sitting home while the guys who should be wearing the horseshoe play in the big game. And the Irsays can all drown in cowshit for a halftime show.

I'm sticking with the 49ers, but I'm not predicting, because this looks like a close call.
As a Steelers' fan, I really can't go for the Ravens, but OTOH, if SF wins they will tie
the Steelers for the most Super Bowl wins. It's always something. We've had some
good close games lately, unlike those times when every year seemed to be a
blowout.

Yeah, probably so, but horseshit isn't all that offensive and birdshit takes too long to collect enough. But people really have drowned in cowshit -quite a few, actually. Like the example below. Why not the Irsays?

I'm not predicting, either. I would take the Ravens +4, but only for emotional reasons I can't really articulate.
Well, this is making me lean against the 'Niners ... once said you can't take it back ...

Culliver attempted to walk it back, of course, after a talk with Harbaugh (the one who coaches the 'Niners - not the one who coaches the Ravens).

Still, I'd rather have GB out of the playoffs, yet once again, because the eventual SB champ beat them in the playoffs.

Sticking with SF -7 ... :)

Not to nitpick, but they did start with the ball around midfield. Halftime--ain't looking
good for the 49ers. :?
