Nah, he's Irrelevant. Found this:
During his first career start, Purdy defeated superstar Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Talk about a good omen!

Good for SF, but I hate to see the game hinge on such a dumb coaching decision as that 4th and 3 call. GO 49ers!

Yeah,

Before the game Dan Campbell said the first one to 30 wins.

He did get that one right.

Turns out that Purdy and his fiance are strong Christians. Idk about their politics, but still . . .

Serves me right for looking :problem:

Swifties, but I'm fine with Ravens, and Lions.. preferences, not necessarily predictions.

No huge preferences, but when the games start I generally find myself rooting for the undertoads.
O Really 1-1, 5-1 overall.
Me 0-1, 3-2 overall.
GoCubsGo 2-1

GoCubsGo and I want SF. O Really?

Swifties.
But I wouldn't mind seeing Mr. Irrelevant take home the trophy.

I wonder if anybody in the Panther org has some second thoughts on dumping McCafferty #23.

A second, third, and fourth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, and a fifth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft ain't much for an MVP contender, but maybe it had the potential to be a good deal -0-?

For the third game in a row KC is the underdog, but only by 1.5 this time. Maybe Vegas is wising up, sorta.

There's no shortage of places to watch the Super Bowl, whether for 'Niners fans or Swifties. The Kansas City BBQ (from the Top Gun film) is taking up a big chunk of the Seaport Village area, but 'Niner bar Moonlight Beach has a 33 foot tv (basically a jumbotron), with theatre-worthy surround sound.

Closer to home, we've got the Park 101

We'll likely watch it at home, though. Better food, no parking issue, no loud drunk people.

Super Bowl Ticket Price History: What It Cost to Go to the Big Game for the Last 5 Years
Super Bowl LIX tickets are the most expensive ever

... tickets for Super Bowl LIX (58), scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 11, start at more than $8,000 for the cheapest “get-in” seats at the Las Vegas venue. That’s more than 50% higher than the cheapest tickets for last year’s game.

On average, tickets cost between $10,575 and $12,082 on secondary markets like SeatGeek and TickPick. That’s also up almost 40% from the same period in 2023.

This has already made the upcoming match between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers the most expensive Super Bowl on record.

Apparently, the venue’s Las Vegas setting is a major aspect of this year’s record demand. The unique locale has turned the game into a week-long party for some spectators.

“Over the 12 months, Las Vegas has slowly begun to solidify itself as the sports capital of the US, and this might be its crowning moment,” Brett Goldberg, Co-Chief Executive of TickPick, told CNN.

The game has also received greater attention due to the possible attendance of superstar singer Taylor Swift. With a Tokyo concert just one day before the event, it’s currently unclear if the billionaire celebrity will make it in time to support boyfriend and Chief’s tight end Travis Kelce....

Home for me, I gave up on Superbowl parties ten years ago.

I actually like to watch the game and lately they've mostly been worth watching.

Correction to the quoted article above: The 2024 game is Super Bowl LVIII, not "Super Bowl LIX", duh. They did get the "(58)" correct.

Allegiant Stadium capacity is "NFL: 65,000 (expandable to 71,835)". Of course, many tix go to the teams or are purchased by corporate accounts. Idk what the face value of the tix was, but where do they find so many willing to put out $11K per seat?
71,835 x $11k = $790,185,000 + parking and concessions :o
Wow, and that's before worldwide TV, streaming and radio revenue. x $2B+?

Anyone sort of shocked that Belichick wasn't hired?

He may be done.

Shula and Landry wanted to continue coaching and were never hired again and both were actually younger than Belichick.

Not really. Can't build a program with a 71 year old coach with questionable ethics and dubious talent without Brady. Go spoil the grandkids, Bill.

I was hoping that Cheatin' Jim Harbaugh would get shunned, but the LA Traitors is the next best thing. They deserve each other. The only downside is that the LA media market will get him more attention - and more intrusion into my living room - than some other cities would have.

I'm not surprised he didn't get a deal. As I mentioned before, his record after Brady isn't wonderful, and he's been in charge of everything from top to bottom. Plus, he's an asshole. People will put up with an asshole who wins, but it's a different story to hire one upfront. Apparently one of his demands for whoever looked at him was that same total control and the teams weren't having it.

I'm more surprised that Vrabel is still out.
