Evil Obamacare

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Sometimes I will post a comment on an article from National Review that I found to be particularly stupid or embarrassingly wrong and always end my comment by calling them "Irrational Review."
 I'll remember that.

Missouri votes to approve Medicaid expansion, overriding GOP opposition

:---P

NC is one of 12 remaining states that have not expanded Medicaid. We have rare Leg-generated referenda, but unlike Missouri we don't have an initiative process. :(

Trump promises to preserve Obamacare protections he’s trying to eliminate

 :confusion-scratchheadblue:
 If the peaceful partier weren't already in the cult, this health plan would definitely convince him to vote trump.

Sadly, won't be the last challenge.
Sadly, US healthcare will remain as unequal and polarized as everything else.
These are the best and worst states for health care

... An overwhelming majority of the top 15 states are located within the Northeast, while every state at the bottom of the rankings is in the South....

WalletHub's top states for health care are Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Minnesota, Hawaii, Maryland, Vermont, Colorado, Iowa, Connecticut, South Dakota, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia, New Jersey, and Maine.

At the bottom of the list are Alabama, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Wyoming, West Virginia, Nevada, Missouri, South Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Florida, and Arizona.

... There also seems to be a notable impact by the Medicaid expansion. Out of the 12 states that have not adopted the expansion, nine are ranked at the bottom in terms of overall health care.

(see map  )

... The study factored in the cost of insurance as well.

Utah has the lowest average monthly insurance premium, followed by Idaho, Massachusetts, Maryland, and Minnesota. Alabama, on the other hand, has the highest premiums with Louisiana, West Virginia, Wyoming, and Vermont rounding out the top five....

What's more, in a recent list of healthcare in developed countries, the US was #15, which was also last on the list.

:puke-left:

At least NC is climbing up the list in lousy America:

Hundreds of thousands in North Carolina will be added to Medicaid rolls this week

It only took a decade. We're #40! Counting DC it's 41 :problem: I'm so proud of NC
