The Wall

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

The only thing surprising is that Trump didn't (hasn't) blame(ed) the Dems for not funding better materials or design.

And it may, but for now he's just going to stick the chunks back in

"We have a very powerful wall. But no matter how powerful, you can cut through anything, in all fairness. But we have a lot of people watching. You know cutting — cutting is one thing, but it's easily fixed. One of the reasons we did it the way we did it, it's very easily fixed. You put the chunk back in,” Trump said
Trump: “We had the safest border in the history of our country - or at least recorded history. I guess maybe a thousand years ago it was even better.”

What a lying POS. The trump "administration" lobbied FOR that particular company from ND to build that portion of the wall. Not only is it overpriced and under spec, the fascist buffoon is now whining over a situation he himself is responsible for. Whining!

It was actually Obama, in his famous north dakotian disguise, who tricked trump into letting him build the inferior section of the wall.

My post above is about it. They also built a controversial half mile elsewhere, I think in NM. This 3 mile TX stretch won't even connect to PINO's wall, which will be further away from the river, thus trapping American homes on the Mexican side of the wall.

Ex-Trump adviser Steve Bannon charged in border wall scheme

Former White House adviser Steve Bannon was arrested Thursday on charges that he and three others ripped off donors to an online fundraising scheme “We Build The Wall.”

The fundraiser was headed by men who pushed their close ties to President Donald Trump, giving their effort a legitimacy that helped them raise more than $25 million. They touted their effort to help the president realize his vision of a “big beautiful” border wall along the U.S.-Mexico line, especially after his effort to redirect millions in government funds, was held up through lawsuits.

But according to the criminal charges unsealed Thursday, very little of the wall was actually constructed. Instead, the money lined the pockets of some of those involved. Bannon received over $1 million himself, using some to secretly pay co-defendant, Brian Kolfage, the founder of the project, and to cover hundreds of thousands of dollars of Bannon's personal expenses....
Perfect. What part of 'illegal' don't they understand?
:---P

If only someone could have predicted that it was a scam. Oh wait, we did from the start, in this thread, the Immigration thread, and:
viewtopic.php?p=91562#p91562

I wonder how much the idiot bigots at CPF and the original LNF forked over, hah.

Edit: neoplacebo beat me to it by 3 minutes.

I couldn't decide between this one and the fired/quit one. In any case, it couldn't have happened to a better rich sleaze who enjoys looking like a wino.

Lock him up, or just let the ripped off donors deal with him.

I feel no sympathy for those who were ripped off. Throw him in jail, cut off his nuts and tar and feather him, I don't care, but anybody who gave him money deserves what they got.

Bannon said today that his arrest is a "political hit job" but I guess he forgets that the people running the Just Us Department used to be his kind. And as a US Navy veteran, I am embarrassed that Bannon was a fucking naval office for seven years. Had I been Admiral of the Fleet during any of that time, I would have made him walk the plank.

 Arrr.

Newly resurfaced video reveals Steve Bannon accidentally previewing his own arrest

... When Acting U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss announced the indictment earlier this week, she alleged that Kolfage used the money to pay for "his lavish lifestyle" — and Bannon was arrested on Kolfage's yacht. In the June 24, 2019 video, Bannon jokes about living such a lifestyle, being on a yacht in the south of France and paying for it with We Build the Wall donations.

In the video, Bannon is heard saying: "This is Steven K. Bannon. We're off the coast of St. Tropez in the Mediterranean. We're on the million-dollar yacht of Brian Kolfage. And Brian Kolfage, he took all that money from Build the Wall. No, we're actually in Sunland Park, New Mexico."

(video)
The Real Winner of Bannon’s ‘We Build the Wall’ Walked Away With $1.7 Billion

Winning is everything in Trump world, and the winner in the border wall fundraising scandal is a contractor who has ended up with more than $1.7 billion in federal contracts.

... even if Bannon and Kolfage had pocketed all of the $27 million raised on GoFundMe, it would be chump change compared to what Tommy Fisher of Fisher Industries stands to make. And he does not seem to be in any immediate danger of being arrested.

That puts him ahead of not only the We Build the Wall gang, but also his brothers, both of whom have done time for unrelated crimes. David Fisher went to prison for five years in a 2005 child pornography case. One victim was a 10-year-old girl....

Court papers in the tax case mention Tommy, but he was not charged and he took Michael’s place as the head of the company. Records on the website Violations Tracker, run by non-profit The Corporate Research Project, indicate that since 2000 Fisher Industries has paid $1,812,620 in fines for tax, safety, environmental, and discrimination infractions. There also was a sexual harassment suit....

But Fisher has not been not been arrested and he still has $1.7 billion in contracts. That makes him a decided winner in Trump world.

And who knows, Fisher may yet get more.

Speaking of failed walls:

Part of Trump’s border wall at risk of collapse just months after it was built

Well duh, the Rio Grande is a half-Mexican registered Democrat, and North Dakota Trumpettes are corrupt idiots.
