Will republicans use the Coronavirus in another of their socialism for the rich scams?

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Marco Rubio Slams Stonewalling By Trump Administration On Latest Stimulus Payouts

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) on Saturday ripped the Trump administration’s Small Business Association for failing to provide any information about outgoing funds in the second round of the increasingly controversial Paycheck Protection Program.

The program, part of the $2.2 trillion CARES Act to help the economy through the COVID-19 crisis, was touted as an aid to small businesses. But nearly 300 publicly traded corporations grabbed $1 billion in aid before the first round of spending ran out of money last month in just two weeks, shutting out countless small businesses.

Now, during the second round of taxpayer aid, the SBA is refusing to reveal payment information, Rubio said in a video message he posted on Twitter....

After news emerged that the wealthy private school Donald Trump’s son Barron attends — St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Maryland — is receiving taxpayer stimulus funds, Mnuchin tweeted that such institutions should also return the money. The elite Los Angeles school where Mnuchin’s children are students is also receiving public funds....
Even sycophant Rubio is beginning to see through the corruption.

A Former Trump Official Won A $3 Million Contract To Supply Masks To Navajo Hospitals. Some May Not Work.

A former White House aide won a $3 million federal contract to supply respirator masks to Navajo Nation hospitals in New Mexico and Arizona 11 days after he created a company to sell personal protective equipment in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Zach Fuentes, President Donald Trump’s former deputy chief of staff, secured the deal with the Indian Health Service with limited competitive bidding and no prior federal contracting experience.

The IHS told ProPublica it has found that 247,000 of the masks delivered by Fuentes’ company — at a cost of roughly $800,000 — may be unsuitable for medical use. An additional 130,400, worth about $422,000, are not the type specified in the procurement data, the agency said.

What’s more, the masks Fuentes agreed to provide — Chinese-made KN95s — have come under intense scrutiny from U.S. regulators amid concerns that they offered inadequate protection.

US billionaires have become $565 billion richer during the pandemic

"The numbers put an exclamation point on the deep divide between haves and have-nots that is helping to fuel unrest across the United States. Wealth inequality is likely to get even worse because of this crisis, experts say."

"I know you’re not supposed to say this, but it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. You’re not going to see this again: Where you’ve actually got an economy that’s fine, and you’ve got a Fed pumping trillions of dollars in.’
That’s Marc Lasry, hedge-fund manager and billionaire co-owner of the Milwaukee Bucks, explaining his stance on the investment"

"Bankruptcies represent good opportunities to buy from noneconomic sellers or people who need to sell," Lasry said

As the rich get richer, the middle class declines.

I can see a need going forward for mass marches and demonstrations against Trump. The virus pandemic will unfortunately provide a cover for such actions to be declared illegal. But good Americans simply cannot allow this fool to remain in office.
I don't know, even 10,000 people wearing masks and groves walking 10 feet apart would stretch 33,300 ft. (6 miles) on a two lane road with 3 abreast.

Great theater

Or a vehicle march

Plans need to be creative.

GOP Senators want to make sure you can't sue corporations for exposing workers or customers to Corona virus. And they know that many, and even most of their gullible ill informed cult members, will still vote for these guys even with this blatant middle finger to them. Hilarious.

That's just one supplier. There was "an estimated $3 billion in taxpayer dollars spent on ventilators from a number of suppliers". Lots more room for waste and fraud.

US jails man who bought Lamborghini with government loan

Instead of speeding off in a $200,000 Lamborghini Urus, a Texas man got a slower ride to jail Tuesday after US authorities arrested him for using $1.6 million in government pandemic aid to go on a spending spree.

Lee Price III, 29, was charged with fraud after he secured two government loans under the Paycheck Protection Program to pay employees he did not have, the Justice Department said in a statement.

Instead he spent the funds on lavish goods like a sports car and a Rolex watch, as well as real estate, an F-350 pickup truck, and thousands of dollars at Houston strip clubs, the statement said....
 :---P

To be fair, though, the strippers are workers that got supported.

So - the "welfare Lambo" isn't a myth after all.
But isn't it strange that the same government that nit-picks (opps) and nickel/dimes every unemployment compensation payment has no problem with hastily creating a poorly planned, loosely administered money shoveling operation that throws billions at ineligible people?

Nursing Homes With Safety Problems Deploy Trump-Connected Lobbyists

Some want direct government aid. Others want tax breaks. Many want protection against lawsuits.

Nursing homes have been the center of America’s coronavirus pandemic, with more than 62,000 residents and staff dying from COVID-19 at nursing homes and other long-term care facilities, about 40% of the country’s virus fatalities. Now the lightly regulated industry is campaigning in Washington for federal help that could increase its profits.

Some of the country’s largest nursing home companies — including those with long histories of safety violations and misusing public funds — have assembled a fleet of lobbyists, many with close ties to the Trump administration.

Eliezer Scheiner, a nursing home owner and major donor to President Donald Trump, recently retained Brian Ballard, a friend of the president who used to lobby on behalf of Trump’s business. Genesis Healthcare, the largest nursing home chain in the United States, hired two former top White House aides, including Jim Schultz, a former special assistant to Trump. LifeCare Centers of America, whose Kirkland, Washington, facility had the country’s first coronavirus outbreak in March, brought on four former Republican Senate aides. The industry’s main trade group enlisted Haley Barbour, a former chair of the Republican National Committee....
