Maaaybe. Monday's ruling was by a Maricopa County Superior Court. Did Ron Filipkowski confuse this with "the AZ Supreme Court"? Now, this one trial element had been referred back to Superior Court by the AZ Supreme Court, so perhaps further appeals are not possible . Or, maybe Lake will throw in the towel, regardless.

So Kari Lake wasn't an active moon-barker for most of her life. She drifted from Republican to Independent to Democrat over the years, supposedly voted for Kerry and Obama and maybe said some controversial stuff, but nothing that should have gotten her hauled off to a rubber room. But sometime or other, she apparently decided that her path to getting elected came through the way far right, and and it looks like that worked for her in the governor primary. But when she signed on as a Trump acolyte, all sense of reason went out the door. I'm wondering if she got some kind of deal out of the Trump people to carry on the "rigged election" fantasy. I can't see that any legit political consultant would find that to be in the best interest of any other state office she wanted.

Twitter users wondered if the former GOP gubernatorial nominee had ever actually listened to the lyrics of "American Woman" before her Arizona event.

... The former GOP gubernatorial nominee took the stage with Lenny Kravitz’s rendition of “American Woman” playing before she announced yet another legal challenge to the results of last year’s gubernatorial race, which she lost to Democrat Katie Hobbs but refuses to concede.

According to right-wing outlet Gateway Pundit, Lake told the crowd she is seeking an “expedited review” of her case, which has already seen its claims dismissed by multiple judges in Arizona. Lake went on to claim, without citing any evidence, that the U.S. Supreme Court is “interested” in hearing her challenge....



... “I hope Lenny Kravitz is getting paid for the use of his work and if not I hope he files and wins a legal action for unlicensed public performance,” a second person tweeted, adding, “Yes, please stay away from me Kari Lake.”

Music buffs pointed out another irony — that “American Woman” was written by a Canadian band, the Guess Who.

“So much for America First,” said a third Twitter user, referencing the right-wing slogan....

BREAKING: Sales numbers for Kari Lake’s new book have come in and they are so ABYSMAL, some of her supporters are SHOCKED and heartbroken.

The internet response has been priceless.

Conservative TV host Steve Deace expressed shock over the lack of sales.

“Kari Lake, who I absolutely adored as a candidate and am still heartsick she’s not governor (yes, arrest Katie Hobbs), is the First Lady of MAGA…Yet her new book never cracked the top 100 on Amazon.”

“For context, DeSantis book was released way back on February 18th and still ranks 124 overall on Amazon. Our book Rise of the Fourth Reich, actually broke into the top 50 overall on Amazon earlier this year,” he wrote.

That’s when the internet answered back.

“For context, the vast majority of the United States hates her,” one Twitter user retorted.

Another wrote, “as a former bookstore manager, familiar with how the laws of supply and demand work in book publishing and sales, I’ll go out on a limb and say no one was interested in buying it.”

I read an article that did not suggest that there actually is an affair but says that Melania is really pissed off about the reporting that there might be. Along with Dolt .45's supposed annoyance over Lake's aggressive pursuit of a VP nod has she already been evicted?

This is what happens when attorneys go along with Kari Lake's election delusions

A federal judge on Friday ordered the attorneys for Kari Lake and Mark Finchem to pay Maricopa County $122,200 — money the county's taxpayers spent to fend off a “frivolous” lawsuit brought before last year’s election.

Turns out judges don’t much like to see the court system used as a campaign prop....

Lawsuit was simply a campaign stunt

You may recall that Lake and Finchem — with financial backing from MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell — filed suit in April 2022 while they were running for governor and secretary of state.

Their lawsuit asked a judge to bar the machine tabulation of votes in the 2022 election and require that paper ballots be used instead. They claimed that Arizona vote-counting machines produced inaccurate results and that there were no paper ballots to verify the machine count.

Never mind, apparently, the fact that they had no evidence to back up their claims.

Or that Arizona not only already uses paper ballots but state law requires a hand count of a random sample of those ballots, to verify the machine count is accurate.

But then, their lawsuit wasn’t a serious attempt to remedy a real problem. It was yet another campaign stunt, employed to make baseless claims about supposedly stolen elections.

A judge called Lake and Finchem on it

To his credit, U.S. District Court John J. Tuchi called them on it.

Last August, he threw out their lawsuit, noting that the pair provided no evidence that machine counting produces inaccurate results and no proof that a hand count of ballots would be more accurate.

In December, he followed up by granting Maricopa County’s request for sanctions against the lawyers for bringing a “frivolous” lawsuit that “baselessly kicked up a cloud of dust.”

“In sum,” Tuchi wrote, “Plaintiffs lacked an adequate factual or legal basis to support the wide ranging constitutional claims they raised or the extraordinary relief they requested. Plaintiffs filled the gaps between their factual assertions, claimed injuries, and requested relief with false, misleading, and speculative allegations.”

Lawyers, take note: You better have evidence

And on Friday, he socked attorneys Kurt Olsen, Andrew Parker and Alan Dershowitz with the county’s $122K bill, though Dershowitz is liable for just 10% of the tab....

Turns out judges don’t like it when attorneys throw in with their clients to bring false, misleading and speculative allegations.

Now, they’re on notice that there’s a price to be paid for doing that.
