Sometimes I think Trump isn't really stupid, that he has an act that works for him and he knows how to run his cult. And that when we ridicule him, we're just helping him along. And then he does something like this, that has no positive value whatsoever and I'm back to asking how can anyone this stupid do what he's done.
Alternative theory: He knows that his pleas for mercy and delay will fail and property will be seized. So, he bites the bullet and pays the bond (he was lying about not being able to) and makes as much news about it as he can. It's all time where we're not hearing about Biden.
Leaving aside the questionable wisdom of the bragging, Ali Velshi points out that Truth Social makes little money. So the reported $3B (?) sale price during an election year can only be seen as a bribe and/or campaign donation. This would clearly be illegal IF we had a functional campaign finance regime The first result has been TRE45QN's flip-flop to now being a TikTok (China) fanboy.
I don't think it was the amount of bond they were laughing at.
"Let's see, you want me to accept properties that have been criminally overvalued as collateral for a bond for a person well-known for not paying debts and whose sole defence is delay and lie. Right"

If nothing else, we're laughing.

I think the only people that work in trump buildings who will be "hurt" by the seizure of those buildings are people whose name is trump. Everybody else who works there will probably keep on working there. It's not as if the buildings themselves will suffer total shutdown. Hell, even if all the people working there now did lose their jobs, it would require others to be hired to take their places.

Good point. Plus, most will be pleased to no longer have the Trump name appear on their paychecks.
Yeah, Trump's trying to make it look like "seizure" of his buildings means everybody will be cleared out and the place leveled. Nope. For people who work there it will be life as usual while all the seizure and control will be mostly paperwork. Eventually changes could come if the properties are actually re-sold, but even then new owners are going to need tenants.
Without commenting on the two systems of justice thing, can he cobble together 175 million? Seems like he should have that lined up quickly if he's been trying for half a billion (assuming he actually can).
