GoCubsGo wrote: Thu Aug 03, 2023 12:40 amMeh, the pussies are afraid to come over here.

But as O Really has often said, quality over quantity any day.
Perfect irony.
How is that ironic?
Two things:

First, this thread was only meant to congratulate those
who had jumped in with the likes of me over at LNF.
The idea was not that BRD should flounder and die.
Y'all have a great place here. I commend you.

Thank you.

IIRC O Really's statement was specific to the expulsion of Useless. We knew that our post total would go down, but that quality would improve thanks to the absence of his incessant childishness. AFAIK no one else has left BRD to be exclusive to LNF, and I don't think that anyone accuses you of wanting BRD to "flounder and die."

Second, that the authority on quality over quantity
would have said that often is beautifully ironic. No?

It would be, a little bit, but tbh I think GoCubsGo may be mistaken. I only remember O Really posting it once or at the least only once in relation to BRD. He has been quoted a few times, but I wouldn't even call them "often".
In the future then, I will think twice before basing my judgments on
statements made by a bounder like GoCubsGo. Thanks for the heads up.

Personally, I've never seen your invitations as suggestions that I should replace BRD with LNF.

I consider both Q ball and rabbit hole to be delusional sociopaths. Hell, you have to have some semblance of reality to even approach devious.

I know Que very well and as a friend after decades of
not only posting with him, but also from countless PMs
where he and I discuss anything and everything. He is
actually one of the nicest, fairest, most interesting and
caring people that I've come to know online. He is also
very difficult to disagree with because he doesn't view
many issues from anything like a conventional perspective.

He's now going through the long, drawn out, soul crushing
dementia and impending death of his mother whom he
loves and admires as much as/more than anyone in the world.

I love having Que as a friend and colleague.

Rabbit, on the other hand, is a total disappointment.

I've neer met anyone personally on LNF and only one person on here have I ever met in real life. Q may be a genuinely nice guy as you say. Aaron Rodgers may be a nice guy, too, but that doesn't detract from the fact that Aaron is a nut.

Yeah, I remember reading his post about his mom. I empathize with him. I lost my mom in 95 and my dad in 2012.

I just think Q is overly confident in his own self styled role as some sort of modern day oracle or something. I imagine the only thing he and I agree on is the value of relaxing at the good right arm of Mr. Natural. I've more than once dismissed his "end of a golden age" line by referencing my own childhood, which I would only descibe as idyllic. I've noted my reasons for calling a certain period in the US as "the golden age" because I lived in a good part of it. And he's told me that he was born in 70, just two or three years before the end of my golden age period. But I do realize using such a term is very subjective. I tend to think Q has lived his entire life witnessing the dry rot of American society, culminating in the current fascist trend.

I assumed, but didn’t know that he is so young. That explains a lot about his weird world view. He never knew the “salad days” of the strongest middle class the world has ever known - before reagan taught our citizens to mistrust and hate our government and proved his point by stating the destruction.

.Oomba I really don’t understand how you can find any sort of silver lining in someone so blindly partisan that they are able to support trump as he does. trump is a truly sick man without any sense of humility, decency, or loyalty towards anyone but himself. He has almost no understanding of history and no belief in honesty.
The trump supporters who aren’t dumb as a sack of hammers have existed on a diet of misinformation from the likes of Roger Ailes and rush Limbaugh to the point that they actually believe the lies they are fed, or they put up with him because of their own greed and self-interest.
I’ve never known Q to say anything that would lead me to believe that he isn’t a total prick.

Well, Q ball told me he was born in 1970 during one of our encounters. I have no reason to not believe him. But having said that, I feel it's important to recognize that a hell of a lot of right wingers have, as you pointed out, come to believe all the lies they've been fed by trump and the right wing media jackals over the past two decades. I worry my ass off about my daughter (40) and granddaughter (14). This is what it's like living in the middle of an age of petulant orange rage.
