President* Trump

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Updated April 3, 2020:

In 1,170 days, President Trump has made 18,000 false or misleading claims
The Fact Checker’s ongoing database of the false or misleading claims made by President Trump since assuming office.

At this pace, 400/mo, I estimate about 21,600 by 1/20/2021. However, the pace may be slowing because he could rattle off 100 or so at a single rally.

Article after article, starting back in 2017 at least "Trump's over the edge" "Trump's losing it" "Trump's face melts..." And yet, he's still there, still scaring the bejeezus out of Repugs, still godlike to his cultists. Clearly they enjoy his craziness.

For anyone who hasn't heard the Guns n Roses version - it's a very good rendition.

Brilliant.
... Standing next to a green bin filled with hundreds of masks, a notably un-face-masked Trump watched an employee (masked) work ...
None of the execs had masks on, either . . . in a fuckin' mask factory.

‘Perfect Metaphor’: Twitter Users Mock Bonkers Music Choice At Trump Mask Event
It’s not clear who called the tune at the event in Arizona, but users on social media couldn’t get over the song selection.

... It’s not clear who selected the music, the White House or Honeywell. However, the Washington Times notes the tune is often featured at Trump rallies.

Other songs played during the visit ― including “God Bless the U.S.A.,” “Eye of the Tiger” and “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” ― are also staples of Trump’s political events....
Excellent tweets.

Trump the "wartime president"?

Unread post by Ulysses »

Donald Trump appears to be trying to garner public approval by characterizing the pandemic as a "war", and promoting himself as a "wartime president".

Will this work? Considering how Trump fumbled the nation's response to the pandemic, and has sent out very mixed messages on how best to battle the spread of the virus, he truly does not deserve any accolades. It's more in line with his well-documented penchant for lying, gross exaggeration, and shameless self-promotion. Trump likely will go down in history as one of the worst US presidents, and as hopefully one of the single term presidents, voted out of office by an electorate sick and tired of his antics.
Buh-Bye, President Plump...

I'm pretty sure most people - even trumpettes - know the difference in what really is a "war" and what isn't. Particularly since the ridiculous overuse of the term over the past few decades - "war on drugs" etc. But I think another reason he's trying to portray it as a "war" is to make it easier to blame, cast aspersion, and create animosity toward the Chinese.

No shit. In the past four or five decades the US has lost the Vietnam war, the war on poverty, the war on drugs, and the war on terror. The current war on lies and stupidity versus truth and objective reality is ongoing and stupid has been making a strong show these past three years.
