St. Peter's to the Sweet 16!
'Tis the Tournament of Upsets

Maybe they would want to get better seeders next year?
Idk, 19-11 before MM, only got in at all by winning the Metro Atlantic Athletic tourney after finishing 2nd in the regular season.

No, not St. Peter's - they earned a bottom-feeder seed. I just mean with so many major upsets, it looks like the original seeding guesses all across the board might have been made with a dartboard.

I said nice things about the Zags, and I'll stand by them, but they definitely looked beatable. Combine that with billy.p's observations on their St. Mary's game (who got thumped tonight), I think the Zags may have a hard time making it to the last dance.

Thus, #2 KY has a piece of history. :P

Well I'll be damned.
So, the writers that put UNC in the preseason top 10 were correct?

My fault. I figured it was over with 10 minutes left and a 25 point lead and went and did other stuff. They even ejected the White hippie to drive the point home. :angry-banghead:

I'm glad that UNC (8) overcame my arrogant jinx, barely, and sent the reigning champs packing. God must really hate RW TX Christians to dangle a miracle like that and then snatch it away.

Maybe UCLA (4) next. :problem: -0-?

Too bad about Creighton (9) vs KS. Two #1s falling would have been incredible.
I waited for backup. Y'all always give me such a hard time when I call obvious officiating blunders. This game should have been won by 30+, instead it almost went to the loser with a bit of help from the officials.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ncaabk ... rstitial=1

"There were a few ways that play could have been officiated. It could have been a standard foul on Manek. It could have been a foul on both players, since Sochan certainly had some culpability in instigating the situation with a push. It also could have just been a flagrant-1 for Manek, which would have given Baylor two free throws and the ball but kept him in the game.
Instead, Manek was gone. And perhaps because of the score — UNC led 67-42 at the time — the officials responded by completely swallowing their whistles for the next several minutes.

At that point, the game wasn’t just dangerous — it was out of control.

Baylor’s aggression on the full-court press paid off, as North Carolina did almost everything wrong tactically to try and break it. But the refusal to call fouls on Baylor at that point in the game escalated the physicality to the point where both teams had little discipline on closeouts or trying to defend the post.

Somewhere between the hacking, reaching and leg-kicking that wasn’t being called, there was a pretty good game happening."

Could be that Kentucky did get an easy spot and then their arrogance at believing this was a gimmie game took over. That and the Peacocks knew they had to play their best game ever.
Whatever happened, it was beautiful.

I think we've heard that before. Where was it? Indiana? Iowa? Oh wait, maybe it was Kentucky.
Everyone pulled fir the Peacocks, same as they will for Auburn.

Maybe Jabari will show off his dunking skills again tonight.
Opps. Who seeded Auburn 2 and Miami 10, anyhow?

Next up Iowa St. Who seeded it 11 and WI 3, anyhow?

Anyhow, I THINK there's a connection with ancient Judaism - Exodus, Diaspora, etc.
