Most everybody has done stupid things they'd prefer didn't show up on YouTube, but Cawthorn seems particularly prone to salacious stuff - much of which was before he was elected. Do we know how he actually got in the position to be elected? Who picks somebody like him to push for Congress, particularly in an area totally infested with solid right-wing potential candidates?

He was the people's pick, charismatic ( ) with a compelling backstory who said the right things.

He overcame trump and Meadow's endorsement of a primary opponent.

He also appealed to the RW xtian homeschool crowd more than establishment Repugs did.

... What may be saddest part though, it's the scandals and solicitous behavior that may do him in, not the politics or wingnutterey....

I just noticed Cawthorn said "Blackmail won't win..." So either he doesn't know what blackmail actually is (very possible) or he knows there's more waiting to get posted if he doesn't bail (also likely).

Blackmail of course is the threat to do something if the person being blackmailed doesn't adhere to demands, and is similar to extortion.
Releasing vids without a threat associated is just general trashing, now far too common in politics and real life.

As he responded pretty quickly and didn't seem to surprised, it's also possible that blackmail was attempted and he opted to not pay whatever price.

He had to know it was out there, someone's been taking all these vids (assuming not tripod selfies and to be honest I don't want to go back and look at any of them).

I lived in NYC long enough to know the customs, but not long enough to care. But in NYC, eating pizza with a fork is is only a minor faux pas, not a major crime - unless you're some politician coming into town for a photo shoot and there you are, fork in hand, telling New Yorkers you can relate to them.
