Guns, race, religion, terror, wingnut thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Trump's solution: Let's just amnesty them!
100 miles of border wall in exchange for amnestying millions of illegals. So if we grant citizenship to a BILLION foreigners, maybe we can finally get a full border wall.
Trump proposes amnesty. We voted for Trump and got Jeb!

Ouch, that's a low blow.

Revealed: FBI investigated civil rights group as 'terrorism' threat and viewed KKK as victims
Bureau spied on California activists, citing potential ‘conspiracy’ against the ‘rights’ of neo-Nazis

... The FBI’s 46-page report on Bamn, obtained by the government transparency non-profit Property of the People through a records request, presented an “astonishing” description of the KKK, said Mike German, a former FBI agent and far-right expert who reviewed the documents for the Guardian.

The report ignored “100 years of Klan terrorism that has killed thousands of Americans and continues using violence right up to the present day”, German said. “This description of the KKK should be an embarrassment to FBI leadership.”

... The Bamn case follows numerous recent controversies surrounding the FBI’s targeting of leftist groups, including a terrorism investigation into Standing Rock activists, surveillance of black activists, and spying on peaceful climate change protesters.

The justice department inspector general previously criticized the FBI for using non-violent civil disobedience and speculation of future crimes to justify terrorism investigations against domestic advocacy groups, German noted, adding that the Bamn files suggest the FBI “seems to have learned nothing from these previous overreaches”.

Even knowing the FBI’s legacy of going after activists, the report was still shocking, said Shapiro.

“A bunch of anti-fascists showed up at a Nazi rally and were attacked by Nazis, and the response from the bureau was to launch a domestic terrorism investigation into the anti-fascists,” he said. “At its core, the FBI is, as it has always been, a political police force that primarily targets the left.”

League of the South Member Tyler Davis Takes Plea for Beating Man After 'Unite the Right'
A member of the neo-Confederate group League of the South has taken a plea for his role in the beating of DeAndre Harris in the hours after the racist “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Tyler Watkins Davis, of Middleburg, Florida, entered the Alford plea to a charge of malicious wounding Friday morning in Charlottesville Circuit Court. The plea means Davis acknowledges there’s enough evidence to convict him while not admitting guilt.

Davis was one of four people charged with attacking Harris, 21, in the hours after “Unite the Right” turned violent on Aug. 12, 2017.

Davis is scheduled for sentencing Aug. 27.

Three others, 20-year-old Daniel Patrick Borden, Jacob Scott Goodwin, a 24-year-old neo-Nazi sympathizer from Ward, Arkansas, and 34-year-old Alex Michael Ramos of Jackson, Georgia, have pleaded guilty or been convicted of the attack on Harris.

Goodwin is serving an eight-year sentence in state prison. Ramos was sentenced in August to six years in prison. Borden, from Mason, Ohio, is serving three years and 10 months in prison for his role in the attack....

Davis is a charter member of the D.B. Coleman chapter of the Florida League of the South based in Middleburg.

The “Unite the Right” rally also saw the arrest of 21-year-old James Alex Fields, of Maumee, Ohio, who is serving life plus 419 years in prison after being convicted of murder in the death of 32-year-old Heather Heyer. Police say Fields rammed his car into a crowd, killing Heyer.

Fields also faces federal hate crime charges related to the incident.

Alex Jones ordered to give five-hour deposition over Sandy Hook shooting conspiracy theory

Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones has been ordered to answer questions during a five-hour deposition in a defamation case brought against him by families of Sandy Hook school shooting victims.

The Infowars founder has repeatedly held discussions on his web shows in which the massacre has been described as a hoax. Grieving relatives of those killed have been called actors.

Now, Mr Jones is being sued by the families of eight victims and an FBI agent who was one of the first on the scene.

They say they have been subject to harassment and death threats from the 45-year-old’s followers as a result of the theories promoted on his shows....

Feds: Coast Guard Lieutenant Compiled Hit List of Lawmakers

Prosecutors say a Coast Guard lieutenant is a "domestic terrorist" who wrote about biological attacks and had a hit list that included prominent Democrats and media figures.

Christopher Paul Hasson is due in court on Thursday in Maryland. He was arrested on gun and drug charges last week.

Prosecutors say Hasson espoused extremist views for years. Court papers detail a June 2017 draft email in which Hasson described an "interesting idea" that included "biological attacks followed by attack on food supply."

Federal agents found 15 firearms and over 1,000 rounds of ammunition when Hasson was arrested. Prosecutors say he also had compiled a list of prominent congressional Democrats, activists, journalists and media commentators....
Whoa. CNN says that he works at CG HQ in DC.

Hate groups reach record high

The number of hate groups operating across America rose to a record high – 1,020 – in 2018 as President Trump continued to fan the flames of white resentment over immigration and the country’s changing demographics.

It was the fourth straight year of hate group growth – a 30 percent increase roughly coinciding with Trump’s campaign and presidency – following three consecutive years of decline near the end of the Obama administration.

Image

At the same time, racist and antisemitic violence continued to plague the country, following the same escalating pattern as hate groups. FBI statistics show that hate crimes increased by 30 percent in the three-year period ending in 2017. (The FBI has not released figures for 2018.) The increase followed a three-year period in which hate crime incidents fell by about 12 percent.

The SPLC’s annual hate group count and analysis is contained in the Spring edition of the Intelligence Report, released today.

The SPLC today also launched an updated, interactive hate map showing the locations of hate groups nationwide.

“The numbers tell a striking story – that this president is not simply a polarizing figure but a radicalizing one,” said Heidi Beirich, director of the SPLC’s Intelligence Project. “Rather than trying to tamp down hate, as presidents of both parties have done, President Trump elevates it – with both his rhetoric and his policies. In doing so, he’s given people across America the go-ahead to act on their worst instincts.”

Trump was not alone in spreading fear about the country’s growing diversity. Fox News served as both his megaphone and a source for his incendiary claims during 2018. Aided by a chorus of supporters in right-wing media outlets and the advisers in his administration with hate group sympathies, Trump enacted a raft of policies straight out of the radical-right playbook....

Yep, the article pretty much covers it......the shit that is happening in the US today is very much like the environment that prevailed in Germany in the 1920's and early 30's.......extremists of the left and extremists of the right clashed for several years in increasing levels of intensity until it got to the point that "regular people" were so sick of it they grasped whatever promised to save them or fix the situation. What they got was Hitler. If Trump gets re elected, he will either pave the way for a Hitler or be it himself. I had a dream that Don Jr ran for president in 2024 and won

I read today that Lindsey Graham is going to lobby the trump mafia to recognize the Golan Heights as part of Israel. I suppose Syria will not like this. But I guess Lindsey figures it's a good chance to get into another war in the Middle East. I hope some wayward pilot drops a bomb on Lindsey's place at Hilton Head Island while he's in the shower. Now that's diplomacy.

Je suis Christchurch x 2.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/multiple-dea ... ories.html

:(

Just one report, take with a grain of salt for the moment, but I'll bet that it's accurate:

The pro-Trump manifesto of tonight’s New Zealand mosque mass shooter just surfaced

Edit: Confirmation of the manifesto:

Brenton Tarrant Manifesto: The ‘Great Replacement’ Rant

All interesting to me, but some bits stood out.
As to why he attacked Muslims, he wrote, “They are the most despised group of invaders in the West, attacking them receives the greatest level of support.” He ranted about climate change, saying that by killing “the invaders” he could “kill the overpopulation and by doing so save the environment.”

... Perhaps bizarrely, the gunman’s manifesto combines environmentalism with racism. He considers himself an “eco-fascist.”
Your treehugger card is hereby revoked.
Another section was headlined “to Christians.” He wrote, “Let our lives be stronger than death to fight against the enemies of the Christian people.”
Figures.
Tarrant said he had planned the attack for two years and had chosen Christchurch three months before. He said he chose firearms for the attack because he believed it would mobilize the “left wing” in the United States to “abolish the second amendment,” which would in turn upset the “right wing” and fracture the U.S. “along cultural and racial lines."
They always think they're going to spark a revolution or great societal change, but it never happens.

I've seen this crazy idiot on fox....

How Candace Owens suddenly became the loudest voice on the far right https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/yo ... st-n885166 ...

(quotes from the article mixed with billy.pilgrim commentary. See link:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=31&p=85705&hilit=Ca ... ens#p85705 )
On Whether He Likes Donald Trump & Candace Owens

He asked himself “were/are you a supporter of Donald Trump?” The manifesto gives this answer: “As a symbol of renewed white identity and common purpose? Sure. As a policy maker and leader? Dear god no.”

... Of Owens, he said, “Yes, the person that has influenced me above all was Candace Owens. Each time she spoke I was stunned by her insights and her own views helped push me further and further into the belief of violence over meekness. Though I will have to disavow some of her beliefs, the extreme actions she calls for are too much, even for my tastes.”
Not sure what he's referring to, but those must be VERY extreme actions that she calls for.
Owens responded:
Candace Owens
‏Verified account @RealCandaceO

To be clear:

We played the “Candace is Hitler” game.
We played the “Candace is anti-rape victims” game.

If the media attempts this “Candace inspired a mosque shooting in New Zealand” bit—they better all lawyer the f*ck up.
I will go full Covington Catholic lawsuit.

Try me.
She also wrote: “LOL! 😂 FACT: I’ve never created any content espousing my views on the 2nd Amendment or Islam. The Left pretending I inspired a mosque massacre in…New Zealand because I believe black America can do it without government hand outs is the reachiest reach of all reaches!! LOL!” ...
Ummm, idiot crybaby, "the media" and "The Left" are NOT saying that you "inspired a mosque shooting in New Zealand," the rightwing terrorist is.

100 pages of guns, race, religion, terror, wingnut is kinda sad.

When gunman advanced on (second) New Zealand mosque, 1 man ran at him

:-||

He is a hero, but it's also a little funny that a rightwing ammosexual can be frightened away by a middle aged man with a credit card reader and a gun known to be without bullets.
